Maco88, I was pissed off at the increases toward the beginning of this year,,,,, prices went from 1850BHT ( double) to 2,269BHT overnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This had nothing to do with exchange rates as both prices in BHT, it is just a BLATANT rip-off.
But as we know its a free market so just stay away from the place.
I am arriving BKK on 20-April, so will make time to check 38Mansion regarding quality, girl friendliness etc and report back,,, the price is certainly right.
Where did you find President Park at 1980BHT ??

Yeah do realise the rise in baht, however, the weaking of our AUD makes it even worse. I thought last year, stayed peak period, between 27 Nov - 7 Dec and paid 2280 baht of memory was just about as much as I will pay (without brekky), but the recent rise just does not justify it, and it no longer represent good value. I do have to admit, I like the rooms (Deluxe studio), and the location isn't bad either. The construction was a bit of a problem though.
The deluxe studio double is $93 AUD ( 2,600 baht) at Asiarooms & for alittle extra I'd rather give Majestic grande a go. ($97.00 for Superior room).
As for President Park, got it directly from their website, 1980 baht + taxes (10%) up until 30/6/06.. never stayed their but I hear its a great Hotel.

Just spent a week at the Royal President.
Room was spacious and comfortable, at 2200 B with breakfast, email access, laundry and 10% F&B discount I found it to be a decent deal.
Nicely GF, they will take the the id card, but no walk of shame to speak of. Keycard for the elevator, so nobody will sneak up on you.
The room could use a facelift though, but comparing what else was available for the same money, I felt I got a good deal.
Location is good, a ways up soi 15, central to almost everything.
No problems whatsoever.
Thumbs up, I would stay there again.
