Ambassador is a piece of crap. Had to change rooms twice, security is rude, I actually lost my temper for the 1st time in months with them,.I was planning on staying 3 weeks, checked out 1st night. Actually took time to talk to manager and tell him what a piece of crap the place was and how stupid they lost 3 weeks rent because of horrible room and service

"suck eggs mate", if you had bothered reading this forum you would have known Ambassodor SUCKS.
On my more caring sharing side, may I suggest you actually read this forum and select an excellent hotel as recommended by "experienced members" ( in more ways than one).
Do a search on say,,,,, Swiss Grottino,,, Majestic Grande, Imperial queens park,,, Town lodge,, varying prices but all very nice.Sometimes I wonder why we bother ?????????????????????????????????

city lodge in soi 19 has been totaly renovated (rooms only)...stayed there last week and paid 1800++, girl friendly and nice room, all new...will go back there for sure. superb for pick up a girl in sc or elsewhere...

Maybe bad info...but can anyone confirm the GF status for landmark... friend returned this week and complained they gave him a hardtime bringing a guest back. eventually let them in but only after he made a scene...

There are varying reports - sharply so - about the guest friendliness of the Landmark. Personally, I've never had the slightest problem with the hotel staff, but it's been a year since I stayed there. According to a colleague who is a regular guest, the policy is "individualized" and depends on the guest and situation at the time. The main rule is to have a double room booked. If the girl registers with you, there are zero problems.
If she's not registered, there can be some problem because Landmark isn't really set up to take girls' IDs in a discrete fashion. It also depends on whether the guest is staying in a suite on a Club/Lifestyle floor or in one of the ordinary rooms (suite, Club and Lifetsyle floors are less hassle). Finally, it depends on the way the girl is dressed, how drunk she is, etc. Girls who scream Nana hooker with their appearance or behavior aren't as welcome as girls who are less obvious. Also, if the guest is bringing back multiple girls several times a day, there could be protests from hotel security.
Boils down to this, according to my colleague- there's no objection from the Landmark to male guests who've booked a double room bringing back a girl, but the management doesn't want it to become a pisshead hotel. Tour groups, families and serious business travelers are more important to the Landmark than 20-something drunken sanuckers. If you're into heavy partying and plan to take a "regular" room at the Landmark, you're probably better served at one of the other Suk hotels. But as long as you have a double room and keep it discrete - no hassles.

Evil makes some good observations. I have never experienced any problems (in my 12 different visits) while entering the lobby and heading towards the elevator. I tend to meet ladies that do not have the "bar girl" look. If they have jeans on when I meet them, we will go to a store and fit her for a dress. This upgrades their appearance and may result in hotel employees stopping us or even asking the woman for her ID.
I enjoy the location and quality of the Landmark. Next visit to this hotel is in September.

Dear Jon,
I haven't stayed here for a couple of years but know others that have. It is "semi" GF, certainly not VERY! If you book a Double room it is difficult to stop you taking a Girl back but they can make it hard. Certainly 2 girls would be very difficult if that is what you mean by VERY?
