Hummm all this procedure sounds very complicated to me. How are other hotels like regarding all these issues (e.g. TL, SG) ? Not top first class hotel, but same same with yours.

Yes, some what true. Many Hotels if you book direct will offer free extras (newspaper and so on) since they are saving money. They also have reward programs. Other Hotels will match the Net Rates. I do not use a hotel if they charge me more then the net and then do not give me extra perks!
I book 3 to 5 nights every month in Bangkok at 4 star places. I have not used your Hotel do what I have read, heard and now what you write.

we do not charge staff for broken glasses, clothes, food etc.
tip belongs to the staff.

Just for a little constrast, in DXB they charge in hotels based upon the ++ model. That is a 10% service charge and a 10% municipal tax (yes in "tax free" Dubai.)
I asked a hotelier what the rationale was behind this, and he replied candidly, "because we can."
The 10% "Sevrice charge" is required by law to be used for the employees, so they use it to help provide accomodation for the workers, then subtract the accomodation charge off of their salaries. Cute.
He loves it because it is presented to the guest as a "required" charge, makes his rooms look more affordable, and he gets a 10% extra "on top of profit" margin. Cute squared.
I wish I could run my business that way, but there are just not enough hotel rooms in DXB to meet demand, so there you have it.
Any "spoilage" caused by employees can also be charged off of this 10% fund. Cute cubed.
IMHO, the ++ system is pure crapola in all of itīs manifestations. You may not agree.

Meddling? I was just reporting the situation in DXB, and my opinion. What is the problem?
To each their own, no sweat. There is no doubt in my mind that the Lodge is filling a market segment (and by all accounts filling well) so more power to them.
