I agree regarding the Lodge - personally, I don't stay there, but that's more to do with the location and my preferences (I like Centre Point, and the Serviced Apt thang) - on the other hand, I *really* appreciate the honest and straighth answers he is providing, which appears to not be appreciated *AT ALL* by some of the respondents, and who appear to be using Livingstone's honesty as an excuse to diss him.
Whatever. As Sporadic points out, the Lodge appears to provide a decent lodging resource, and it appears to be doing well doing so. As LY points out, if you don't like it, for whatever reason, just don't stay there. Simple as that.
On the other hand, due to Livingstone's attitude and honesty on here, I will be interested to check out the restaurant/bar on my next trip.
For what it's worth, Livingstone, thank you very much for your candor and honesty in answering the questions in this thread.

Thanks for all the replies and comments.
We know that the model of openly adding service charge will always be discussed by our customers. We can only explain why we made the decision to use this business model. And we will go ahead with this, because we really believe that it is the most honest and clear model for customers and staff.
Life without different opinions would be damned boring.
Everybody is very welcome to visit us here and check out whether Livingstone's is worth to stay, eat, drink and having fun or not.

I choose to stay at TL, but last nigt happened to be in the area of 33..actually at Villa buying wine and Miss P. fancied a steak.
We called into Livingstone's and both enjoyed VERY good steaks, cooked Exactly as ordered with excelent sides and a good salad bar to boot....sitting by the pool an added bonus....very relaxed and comfortable surroundings
Argentine tenderloin @ 880 + + is both good value and a quality meal.
Well done "Management" I reckon you're right on target here.
PS....RTB helped Miss P polish off her take away "doggie bag "....for supper...and was most complementary....LOL....

Happy to hear that. The cooking quality of the steaks gets better and better, but of course things are still going wrong sometimes...even after a year of training for the chefs.
Just for information for the readers:
We have 27 rooms in Livingstone's, and 16 of them are equipped with Jacuzzi's. 5 have even double Jacuzzi's...
Many of our guests ask for those higher standard rooms. If somebody looks for Jacuzzi rooms at reasonable prices, we have them.

The room rates for the room categories:
Superior Room: 1,800.00 ++
Deluxe Room: 2,600.00 ++
Junior Suite: 3,200.00 ++
Executive Suite: 4,000.00 ++
Prices include breakfast and internet access (!). We have wireless internet all over Livingstone's, and additionally wired access in all rooms.
To get the net rates you add 10 % Service Charge and on top of that 7 % VAT (all together 17.7 %).
Deluxe rooms, Junior Suites and of course the Executive Suite have usually jacuzzis and balconies, but due to the fact that the rooms were built into an existing villa the layout differs for each room.
Four rooms have double jacuzzis.
Satellite TV: we provide the South African Super Sports (Multichoice) and UBC. In the moment 20 channels (sports, news, movies).
