I know that most bars/discos in BKK play dance/techno type music, but are there any places that cater to rock n roll/heavy metal fans?

You can try any of the bars on PP or on Sukhumvit which has a live band -- they generally revel in rock and country music.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Do you know if they are bargirl joints, regular bars or a combo of both? With so much girl action in the area, I know I'm probably going to need a "resting point" to just lay back for a break with a beer or 3.

Open: 9pm-2am. Music from11.15pm.
Great futuristic décor both outside and in the pub. Enough amps and speakers to make a touring rock band happy and all in a room the size of an executive office. Not for those with delicate hearing, or pacemakers! The bad bit is that they charge for drinks before you go inside. That's not a bad idea when the band is shaking the walls, but if the place is empty, and the band replaced by rock music videos, it feels like a clip to get you in. Knowledge of cocktails is trivial, if not insufficient.

There is also the Rock Pub
It is located opposite the Asia Hotel close to Rhatchdewi bts
A band on
malnly Thai crowd
laid back atmosphere
Although it was a bit dead when I was there a month ago. It was Friday about 10:00 pm
admakers as mentioned is quite good as is the food there
Not sure if its rock as such though
all depends on what music you want
Also Country Road 11 (As in roman numerals for 2)

This place also has some nice women
not sure if she's still there but it once had the best looking Thai working girl Ive ever seen
who also spoke English as good as any of us

I think you are referring to Country Road 11 on the corner of Sukhumvit soi 19. I like theplace. Good live music and some cuties in there as well.
