I went to CM2 last night. I thought it sucked. Sure there were some cute girls there, but the band is horrible. Fat pig of a white woman for the singer and the music sucked. The drinks are WAY overpriced. 210 Baht for a beer! 350 baht covercharge. I thought the girl to male ratio was nothing special. I want a place where the women are at least 3 - 1. It was closer to 1 1/2 girls to 1 guy. There are a hell of a lot better places to go than CM2 in my opinion. I wont be back. I can walk the streets around Nana and find freelancers, why go to an expensive as hell disco where the music sucks to find one?

Okay then! Name the names bro! And a street name ain't gonna cut it. So CM2's gotta fat white chick onstage tryin' (and failin') to be a 'sistah', so what? She offends me too but you nor I was there to hit on her.
I was there three nights in the last week and a bunch of other bars in BKK to compare ie- 87, Narcissus, Faith Club, Grace coffee shop, Bamboo Bar, Gulllivers and visit for visit, as far as clubs go CM2 is the winner.
If you're gonna serve up whine you ought to at least have the courtesy to serve it with a bit of cheese mate.

I usually go to go-go's or beer bars in Bangkok. I have found that overall, the disco nightlife in Bangkok is pretty shitty. Maybe that's because there are so many girls working at go-gos and beer bars. The best band in town is usually at the Hard Rock Cafe, but that place is too small.
The night I went to CM2, I did meet an absolute stunner. She was a pain in the ass though. I was tired from working all day and wanted to take her back to the hotel at 12:30. She refused to go home with me until the place closed at 2am. She told me she liked me and wanted to go to my hotel with me, but wanted to stay until closing time. This girl was obviously higher quality than anything else I was going to find that night, so I stuck it out. 2am finally arrived and we went back to the hotel. Once at the hotel, the girl said she wanted 3000 baht to spend the night. I told her I had just spent 2000 baht on drinks and cover at CM2 and that I would give her 2000 baht for the night. She refused to stay for that much, I refused to give her 3000. So she left. By this time, it was 2:30am and I was exhausted anyway so I went to sleep alone. That's my experience at CM2. 2nd worst experience I have had in my 5 years in southeast asia.

JKT Guy, i too have come across the 'stay till closing time' ploy. It's either so they can drink at your expense or maybe to keep an eye out for a better catch.
When they say that, I ditch them and move on. I'd rather get a not- so-goodlooking girl who's happy to be with me than a goddess who thinks her shit don't stink.

Hit CM2 again last night and found it full of adorable honeys. Sure there's bound to be greed and bad apples amidst the bunch.
But I'd say that it works both ways ex: we hung out and had a plate of Som Tam inside CM2 untilat least 2:30ish before we moved on to the Grace.
I tell you what, from what I observed last night there's plenty of gnarly, mangy punters in this town that don't even come close to deserving the treasures that a "merely average TG" has to offer (just my opinion mind you).
Yet, i think it makes it worth BOTH our whiles to hang out a bit, afterall how long does it take to ascertain if a TG really & genuinely is interested in you? And even then. so what? We're gonna cast her back into the sea in a day, on average. Right? This trip I swore to myself I was gonna play "Mr. Hard-to-get" and try and hold out for the real horny treasures in this sea of sanuk. Can't say as I've been at all diappointed even if it's been HELL keeping the promise. LOL I've been consistently turning up the instant GFE and horny-love-to-play babes as a result I think of being certain to take the mai pen rai approach and chill with em for teh long haul.
Best advise has always been that a good-fun attitude, quick on the smile, make them laugh when can, make your own fun rewards the happy punter in spades here.
Oh Lord, how I love this people, this country, this culture!

Skip, I agree that there are a lot of losers who end up taking home girls who are way too good for them. Especially at Grace Hotel. I only went there once, but the guys there were really the dregs of the earth. I didn't think the selection of ladies was very good either though. I'm not one who wants to be hanging out past 2:30am anyway. I do have a job and it's tough to keep hours like that. I prefer finding a nice girl who likes me. Dancing a couple of hours and then taking her back to the hotel for sex before 1am. I do my best to find the sweet ones, but get duped from time to time. I dont envision many sweet girls ever even going to Grace Hotel though.
