I hear from my brothers friend that there is a rumor going round about some rumors, being just that, rumors.
But that is just a rumor, or so I head from his friend, etc, etc...

TC = Totally Confused

ps. I heard they have extra wide necked bottles for guys like me. Or is that just another rumor...

So you can stick your head in?

The Q Bar is far from a den of iniquity? WTF is going on.

I watched on Friday night in Cowboy from the steps of a Bar at 2.30am as a "Man in Brown" (actually more grey) got out from his Police Pick Up, it continued down the Soi whilst he poked his head in various Bars looking for activity. The Bar I was infront of had 50-60 people in it still partying but was not bothered??? Later when leaving I noticed the Public Servants sitting at the front of the same Bar enjoying a Drink & Dinner??? Its not what you you know but who!

I was very angry to read in this morning's Bangkok Post about the raid on Q Bar, a respectable late evening establishment which I have been known to visit when I am up in BKK... like today.

I am afraid that its not that 104 people were detained for lack a passport that annoys me so much......because for better or worse its the law that you have to carry a passport in this country unless you have a Thai ID card. Rather I am furious about this whole damm business about being forced to offer a urine sample.

I have been around for 67 years now and, of course, never touched
methamphetamines. But, I have also never been forced to forced to pee into a cup late at night. The indignity of it all disgusts me... to say nothing about the violation of internationally accepted jurisprudence concerning self-incrimination.

The Thais are quite entitled to wage their "war on drugs" their own way; but by God they are NOT going get away with treating foreign tourists in this Nazi-like fashion. If I was threatened with a demand to provide a urine sample I would refuse. And unless I was excused I would not only complain to my embassy but publish the details abroad in a fashion that would be sure to impact well off people like myself from coming to such an uptight and rude little country. By the way, that's not at all how I regard Thailand after nigh on 40 years of visits and living here part time, but that's the impression Interior Minister Pracha Maleenont is creating by allowing his police to mishandle foreign guests in this crass fashion.

Brothers:

I am amazed as to what is going on in the LOS. NOt only are they deterring some good clean fun, but think of the financial impact this is going to have on some of our favorite night spots. I know for a fact that the new closing hours are hurting some of those clubs that were trying to rebound. In addtion, I hear that it may go to midnight next month if al licenses are not applied for.

I just want to have a good time and not worry about being hassled.

Cheers.....

I think that if you were asked to pee in a cup, or if you refuse you will be locked up until you do, then I think you will decide to pee in the cup. If I ever get asked to pee in the cup, I will make sure it is filled to the brim and dribbling down the sides. Make sure it leaves that little ring of confidence on the table where you place it.

This sh_t is getting just a little old. They can have a happy little Disneyland if they want it, but my money goes were the easy fun is. There are plenty of places in the world that don't close at midnight and nobody has to pee in cups. Even if it were just the Thais who had to piss it's still pathetic. There's nothing special about farangs pissing in cups, it's the whole damn war on drugs that's f_cked up. But, as usual, if nobody speaks up nothing will change for the better. You get out of life what you put into it. If nobody complains then what do you expect?

Off course you feel like proteting every one knows why they raided Qbar it says in the first line.
The AMERICAN BAR why don not they raid Nana or Patpong with the same force? If you refuse to pee I think for sure they lock you up and put your picture in the magazine. What fellow brother can do and please do it. Copy the URL http://www.bangkokpost.com or http://www.thenation.com and send it to all your local newspappers WARNING THEM from normal people comming to Thailand. That my freind will have effect beucase Thai embassy will read it around the world and report home. Complaint to the goverment here will only make you end up on the black list.
I am starting sending email right now.

I will keep you posted if they publish it.

Singapore had all night opening last weekend - and they are getting proud of it.

Singapore gets my vote more and more these days!

Perhaps Q bar should re-locate countries, once again...

I will be in Q bar tonight, with my passport.
