Anyone have update on this Metal Zone Pub?
Would be a very welcomed change to hear some real music for a change 
Am a metal fan myself and have to settle for listening sessions in my hotel room on my trips, live music or a bar with heavier tunes would be really spot on.
What is the location of this place? I found info about it and the name of the soi (Lang Suan) and that the area is Ploenchit Road, Pathumwan but it doesn't say anything to me.
In fact, I have never been to Bangkok, only Pattaya. So explain like to a total newbie. Near Sukhumvit, Cowboy etc?
Can you bring own cd's? What kind of girls there? No difference or is there somekind of more down-to-earth not to superficial girls with other than mainstream musical tastes available?
I have a hard time imagining a thai metal chick =)
But there must be, right?
Almost every TG already has black hair anyway, so it's a good start

If you wanted to meet some MetalHead TGs, you should have cum to the Jester's Children's Fair in Pattaya earlier this month.
Laam Morrison is a pretty hot act in Pattaya. You can see the fellow's picture in some of the touristy handouts at currency exchange kiosks
Also, if you want to hear some real music cum to TQs on Beach road in PTTY after 2pm, but of course the tunes are even better at night, or you can ask for certain songs in the day if it's not crowded

Heard of Morrison, I guess in PTY have to check out the Blues Factory.
I'll be in LOS in three days and definately will be visiting TQ bar, that was in my plans. There were TQ1 and TQ2?

Babysnake..If 'Metal zone' is the one I'm thinking of it is near the Mayfair apts on Langsuan.........out the front door and turn right.
About a 20 minute walk from Suk, between there and Patpong.
Cool looking place, if you like your metal certainly the place to go. Went once, more into the punk scene myself but didn't mind this pub. Was fairly early I went in, not so long back.

BTW Babysnake, let's give you real directions instead of between 'Sukhumvit' and 'Patpong'
If you walk toward Sukhumvit Soi 2, you'll see a bridge and a beer bar area on the left. (Soi 0).
That's where Sukumvit ends and Ploenchit Road begins.
Walk all the way down until you see Central Department Store on your right and a 5 star on the side where you're walking. Turn left. That's Soi Lang Suan.
Walk all the way down and you will see Metal Zone. It's not too far from Lumpini Park.

Sure there are! It's all about the definition. I won't get into details because this is not the forum for that.
Let's take some well known bands like Limp Bizkit, Purple, Sabbath, Metallica.. for some rock, for some the heaviest as it gets, for some just the beginning.
Well Sabbath was the beginning but you know what I mean. bands that were real heavy on 80's or before are now condidered rock. The extreme music goes more extreme while the easy listening (radios, charts, background music) gets more repetitive. So the gulf between these opposite just widens.
And as it has always been the nature of punk and metal to rebel, I'd love to, just for the fun of it, to hit some club like Piano or Orbit and put the nastiest record ever made into the player. But I won't :P
I promise not to bring any old school dm/bm records.
I find thai music hard to take but as a tolerant person I I won't expose others to my "horrible music tastes", even if the minority can't avoid being exposed to the majoritys choise while in public.
But.. I thought if there is the chance I want to see the not so public side of Thailand's music and culture.
Shiit I knew it, have to quite Kramer: THE THREAD IS OOUUT OF CONTROLL! :D
