Staying in Sukhumvit is a good move, you certainly will be right amongst the action, re the 'good girls' however, can I point out a little local info ; A middle class Thai Girl [TG] who perhaps works in an office/dept. store, will certainly smile/flirt even, with a Guy, but wil not go out with someone she does not know, and even then, if she goes anywhere with a guy, she will take a chaperone or two. Sorry TPE, do not agree with that at all. Gullivers yes that is 99% pro, but the Q bar has always had a good mix, where the hookers are in the minority
Thai values have changed a lot over the last few years, when I first came to Thailand about 6 years ago, the majority of dates all came with a friend! Now if a girl bring a friend then it's the exception rather than the rule.

Q Bar still seems like a 'pro' majority to me.
Would have to agree with most of TPE sentiments as well.
Although yes, society is changing. As to what it means to the average visiting tourist (including medium term type tourists/"expats"), I'd say very little if anything at all.

O wise one. When a mate first started living in BKK he had a barney with his live-in TG and chucked her out.
