CM2 is overpriced? No sweat bro! This is Thailand you can find it at the price you want it. But if CM2 isn't your gig then why bother posting? I mean come on, I'll grant you I'm a newbie, but you better admit you're the fish out of water swimming in the wrong stream.
Hell, I don't know how long I'll live the newbie cluelessness or lose the jaded eyesight but I was feeling like it was dimming abit as I gnawed off a good portion of delicacies off tghe bug carts this week. A special invite of my Isan cutie picked up outta CM2 and damned if she and her kind ain't all nocturnal creatures. There's merit in what you say, and if you gotta walk in the joint thinking about your wake up call and appoinments then you're defeating yourself. Maybe I'm only 4 trips under my belt, maybe I'm new to LoS but in the past month I've opened a whole bunch of whiskey, watched a whole lot of sunrises, shared a lot of meals and nowhere along the road did a "price quote" insinuate itself into the mix.
Old timer or newbie~ they won't equate either way to Thai's sanook if your counting beans beforehand. That's not my 4 trips talking, no but I think my almost one years anniversary on readings on this forum combined with the reality of experiencing it all has verified it. But, as they say...YMMV!

Just got back from there. Hey, they have recently installed 2 pool tables there. Games at 50B. If you don't want to cover charge, head over there on Tuesdays, as it is "Guys' Night", and you get a free glass of Carlsberg too.

Skip, I'm not a bean counter. However, I do usually work in Bangkok when I'm in town. I can find places like CM2 anywhere in the world. Bangkok is unique in that it has beer bars and go-go bars that make it very convenient for the businessman to get some quick pussy. I also think the quality at the go-go's is better than at CM2. If I want action like at CM2, I can get that in pretty much any country in the world. I had enough of that scene in the usa. I won't waste my time at cm2 anymore. But if you like mediocre music played by a band where the lead singer is a chubby white woman, overpriced drinks and women who won't go home with you until the place closes, then CM2 is the place to go!

Dearest Brothers,
Skip is currently residing, convalescing, and sanooking on Koh Chang. I send my thanks to you concerned souls with assurances that my batteries are charging up nicely and the voice is coming back. I swear it was only due again to too much walking all over BKK that the voice froze. Now, about those energy levels, well yes, they were trashed trying to keep up with the CM2/Grace girls I hooked up with. Brought one with me figuring my odds of keeping up here stood a better chance. So far so good and lemme say that Koh Chang is spectacular! (but very quiet scene ie. 5 beer bars and 1 Disco [5mths old]) on my side of the island anyway.
JktGuy~ Okay bro! To each his own. I agree with you on the band, but think the fat white chick's history as we speak. I thought perhaps we needed a neutral party, one who had great experience in the CM2 scene to mediate this one. But reading your last post it just seems we go out for different things presently. I'm on 8 weeks of sanook tour and bedtime means nothing much, for you now, on the other hand, it has real relevance for you, granted.
For me personally, at the moment, I have almost no interest in the go-go scene and most beer bars don't excite me much. But, I love to boogie and a good DJ can keep me on the floor for hours which is what I am looking for today. In BKK today the Q-bar/ CM2 nightlife scene hits my sweet spot.
But note BK's post too. CM2 just installed pool tables and recently re-did their Karaoke room to a really exquisite 'look' complete with a mainstage available to large parties. I spoke with mgmt last week and they confirmed/affirmed they're 5+ years of packing in the crowds is due to relentless marketing, innovation, and spending the baht. So, while you may not find it fits you to a "t" at present, I would still venture to say were you to entertain guests from out of town who were looking to walk into a party scene (any random night will do) in BKK CM2 is always a can't miss proposition for fun.

I was dragged to CM2 the other night against my will. I did have a decent time there. this time I went at 12:30. I think it's ok if you go that late. Any earlier and it's just too long to wait till the place closes. got there at 12:30, met a girl about 1:15 and was out by 2am. Not a bad time. she did try to overcharge me again. What's up with these girls wanting 3000 baht?
Skip, everybody has different tastes. Glad to hear you are having fun.
I haven't been to the philippines yet. Hope to get there some day.
