Does anyone know what the normal way and rate of transportation within Hua Hin are?
An example is : within Pattaya, we usually pay the 5, 10, 20 baht moving between north, south Pattaya and Jomtien.

Just spent a weekend up there and found the prices quoted by tuk-tuks a bit steep. Traveling between the Sofitel and Hyatt/Baan Duang Keaw was quoted at Bt 60 by motocys and, Bt100 by tuk tuks. A tuk tuk between Sofitel and Marketplace Village was Bt80 and from there to Hyatt/Baan Duang Keaw was Bt 100.
From what I could see, there are very few song taews running in Hua Hin. Which must be why the tuk tuks were firm in their prices. Hope that helps...
Might be wise to get your pricing upfront. We never did, and the coupld of times we challenged the tariffs they were insistent.

Actually, I saw several stands that were offering them for Bt150 per day. Might be the best option for this town. At the time, though, we couldn't be bothered.

yep, but the THB 150 joints don't tell you the bike (and you) are not insured when you rent

I usually rent Classic Italian Scooters http://www.huahinclassicscooters.com/
they charge 300 per day but you have a Real Contract and insurance on both you and the bike.
All vehicles are insured for hire use 3rd party only. (Thailand does not have any insurance companies that cover motorcycles comprehensively) any body who hires you a motorcycle and tells you different is not being truthful.
