Not that new apparently, Google found this report dated Oct 2005 on the Virtual Traveller forum.
One of Dubai's favorite night-spots, though not really as happening as it used to be, is the Lodge. It has numerous bars and dance-floors, including the only open-air dancefloor in Dubai. Situated adjoining the Nasr Leisureland, next door to the Viva Goa Restaurant (which is a wonder in itself), this place plays upbeat music to a rather cosmopolitan clientel, a mix of arabs, africans, asians, and westerners. The club is suprisingly roomy, the dance floors huge and if you're lucky you won't be subject to monotunes of one variety of music dictated by a select group of the crowd. I don't know what it is, but I think Eva sets the dancefloor on fire each time she gets onto it. Love taking her out dancing, I hope the magic never stops.

It's Unlikley to be a dedicated P4P establishment. However note this 2004 report on the Cyclone from the same forum
Cycleon is one of biggest nighclubs in Dubai and they play a very nice R&B and good Dance show Girls ATTENTION u should be careful it's X rated "U may have a pinch or more" I leave it U.

The Lodge is one of Dubai's older clubs. It went under another name until 2001 (the name escapes me, because it was a well-known gay bar  ). It was closed down by police in 2001 when the club tried holding a drag-queen night.
They also apparently advertised it on radio, and the radio personality, who was one of the organizers. was pressured to leave Dubai. All this happened shortly before I came to Dubai, so it's second-hand info.
A couple of years ago there was a RT/get-together at the Lodge, attended by Dark Knight on his visit to Dubai, as well as JSF, Almaty, Kris, My Kapitan, Wicked Roger, and me. When I told JSF the history of the place (with a wink), he got a little nervous.
I've dined at the Thai restaurant next door with friends and family a few times (great food, quiet inexpensive buffet, and they put on a good floor-show). While there, I checked out the Lodge, but it was always dead (before midnight anyway).

Yes, have heard the same. And it doesn't do any good for YOU to complain, because when you're not around... well, you know what they say about payback.
I remember one time (posted), when Mr. House wanted to charge a girl I was bringing in (works there, but I had arranged to meet her downstairs so she could avoid the entrance fee). He wanted to charge her anyway, she demurred, I got a bit upset, and he just said to her, "see you tomorrow, double charge". Discretion being the better part of valor, a 10 slipped into his palm, and everything was OK." Seems he's not particular who he steals from (girl or bar itself).
That was just cash, but have heard of other "favors" being demanded, and it's not just Seaview.

It is a refurbishment, and it is in Al Nasr area, just down from Cyclone. Sounds like a legit club, but no doubt will have a few wg's around. Maybe like Zinc, clubs like that (really wouldn't know, I can't get into places like that - not that I'd want to.)
Piece from this week's Time OUt Dubai: Chi at the Lodge. After a monster refurbishment, The Lodge nightclub finally re-opens for business with the three separate areas having a combined capacity of a whopping 3,000. Exciting - and if the owners make good on their promises - live acts will soon be performing at The Lodge on a regular basis.

Every girl I have ever pulled from there has mentioned that Mr. House tries to get favors. Generally he hits up the new ones and bothers them for a little while then backs off. One time he charged MR1 ( your Ms. Hard Marketing ) 50 Dirham entrance because, "you do good business, you can afford it".
I've tried bringing "dates" in and can do so, but he still wants an underhand for that. To be honest, it's easier for the girl to pay her normal entrance fee. She gets a free drink coupon with it and that way he gets nothing. Which is exactly what he deserves.

new bar and club at the lodge (behind cyclone) is called chi, theres a lounge, a club, and a garden, and a restaurant too
i think it is the "new" lodge i.e replaced lodge
capacity 3,000 people but not every night or summer
interesting to see the increase in road traffic now and how police handle it vis-a-vis cyclone cruisers etc

Music Room - Majestic Hotel (next to Stanchart - Al Mankool)
Music from the Band was tolerable bordering on good.
Had chance to be there yesterday with few out of town workmates. As I mentioned earlier, this club is being run by the previous owners of York Club.
Still out of bounds for the WGs. But there was a lively bunch of Philipinas. I believe they were good to go as I saw few of them chatting and eventually leaving with some Military/Navy types who were there at that time. While I was leaving at around 11.00 pm, I saw one such pair actually leving in to the Hotel proper and getting in to the lift.
Looks it might be Girl Friendly.

Stopped by Rattlesnake tonight, just before 11pm to give a departing PRC some photos.
Imagine my surprise when I saw a table outside, right at the entrance, with a large chalkboard. On the chalkboard:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 35 dhs entrance fee, 1 drink coupon included
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 35 dhs entrance fee, NO drink coupon included.
As I was just dropping off, I did not make a test run of the blockade.

Sorry to be pedantic mate (and it's slightly embarrassing to have such a comprehensive knowledge of Dubai bars!) but it wasn't the Lodge that got closed down because of the gay bar/drag queen/radio personality hoo hah - although that did happen. It was a place called something like the Diamond Lounge, behind the Crowne Plaza on SZ Road. It has never reopened to the public although Fibber Magees, which is next door and part of the same set-up, reopened a couple of years ago.
The Lodge used to be the only big expat bar in town, in the days not so long ago when SZ Road was barely more than a camel track. It had no P4P but used to stay open as long as there were still people standing. It got closed for a couple of years after a row with the LE, then reopened to some fanfare in about 2003 but never returned to anything like its old glory, and closed again about six months ago. A few of us went in at about 1 am on a Satturday morning, just before it closed, and were literally the only customers in there.
While I'm boring you all with dbx darkside history...I got talking to an old guy who's been in Abu Dhabi since the early 60s and he was telling me that in the days when there was absolutely nothing here, but ships would dock occasionally, there was quite a thriving red light street - on the site of where the Astoria Hotel is now. So some things don't change!

Stayed there 2month ago and made the mistake of bringing a girl without making a survey before. Not only wasn't she let in, was done in a pretty rude way. Not considered a hotel for me anymore
