Has any one used any of the local limo services? specifically the TBS service? I wonder if it is a real limo, or just a "car"

I haven't seen very many "real" limosuines in BKK. ÝI'd just ask the service, they should tell you. ÝJust ask what kind of vehicle they send. ÝIt may depend on the number in your group. ÝToyota Minivans are quite common. ÝMost of the limo services from the airport is a nice car, maybe a Mercedes or similar, but not the sort of thing you expect with champagne, etc.

dman41 I have never seen a limo in BKK. Not sure of your plans but the "limos" at the airport are OK cars. If I arrive at BKK with someone else I always take a limo 'cos taxi's struggle to get the luggage of two people in the boot (trunk) 'cos it is full of gas tank. Most hotels have their own "limo" car if you don't want a taxi. Dave

dman41: I have used private transportation in Thailand before. It consistes of either a Mercede's E or C class, or a Volvo 7 series. I have never seem a "true" limo in Thailand. The private cars were about 6K baht per day, including tip. But, the nice thing about this service was that they also doubled at sercurity, since they either knew or were military or policemen. Needless-to-say, I never to hassled in any place I went to. Luckily my company picked up the bill.

Thanks again guys, I have one booked to pick me up at the airport, and from BKK to Pattaya and back...is there a better way to get to Pattaya and back? I think the fee is 400baht from the airport + 60 toll fee, and 1600 to pattaya, and 1600 back....

dman41 limos at the airport are 500 baht to BKK and 1500 baht to Pattaya. Hotels in Pattaya can organise pickup and a return booking is cheaper. But we aren't talking big sums here for what you get. 1500 baht for two hours journey in comfort doesn't sound a bad deal. A taxi from BKK to Pattaya would be about 1000 baht Dave Dave

Hi dman41 - Not sure what you mean by "limo", I can't imagine a regular stretch type limo being able to manoeuver through the chaos of BKK traffic. I think what they refer to here is probably a Mercedes or equivalent. When I visited BKK recently I took the private car service from the airport to my hotel - it was a diesel Mercedes which cost me 650B, which is a little more than the meter taxis which I think are around 400B. Then again, I was hung right over and didn't have to wait in line, and I'm an impatient prick at the the best of times, so it was worth it to me. When I went to Pattaya, I took the bus from Ekamai Station -cheap at 90B, but seats so hard I couldn't even feel my butt after half way or so. Upon my return I hired a car in Pattaya for 1050B, and got the guy to write it out for me on a piece of paper - good thing, because the driver who showed up tried to hustle me for the expressway toll. I just showed him the paper and politely said no, and I had no further trouble. Much nicer ride on the way back! regards Snowbird

Hi dman41 Not 100% sure but I think this car is a straight forward saloon car. The " executive" title refers to the trim level. Were that car in UK it would mean that it has things like leather seats, aircon. and other electrics. Thats all. But is is as good as you will find in BKK, I think. Dave
