I am a military historian, historical preservationist, and a membe rof the Calif State Mil Reserve. I am writing a book on US bases in LOS during the war. There is a new wave of interest among younger people and the war. The War in Iraq has, no double, fueled this interest. Even Nam computer games, rairsoft.re-enacting, and collecting are becoming very popular.
My book will be an anthology of experiences of common soldiers stationed in Thailand and full of light-heartedness and humor. I will be there Dec. 15-29 and for 4-6 weeks in May and June to visit bases. Any help would be appreciated for travelling to bases and interviews.

Suggest you obtain a list of VFW Posts in Thailand and contacts at those Posts. Most of the resident members of these Posts returned to USA after their tours of duty in Thailand and retired or were discharged from the military and immediately returned to Thailand, married Thai ladies and have lived there most of their lives. And most of these members had multiple tours of duty in Thailand, many of them at more than one Thai base.
These guys could be invaluable assests in writing your book.
