My mate who is by no means a newbie loves Singha. I don't but on the odd occasion when there is nothing else in his fridge, I can drink it.
Tourists always drink Singha or Chang cos they want to drink the local beer when they are on hols in Thailand, much the same as when I got to Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos or anywhere for that matter.
The rumour is that the Nation newspaper tested Singha about 15-20 years ago and found the alcohol contect to be between 5-11%. There days I think they have better control. I know that when I drink Aussie beer here in Bangkok it takes me the same amount of bottles to get pissed as local beer.
