Thailand's Thaksin to Pay $115 Million for Liverpool Stake, Thai Rath Says
May 9 (Bloomberg) -- A group of Thai businessmen headed up by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has agreed to pay 4.6 billion baht ($115 million) for a stake of about 30 percent in English Premiership soccer club Liverpool, Thai Rath newspaper reported on its Web site, citing Deputy Commerce Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal.
The deal will be signed tomorrow in Bangkok, Pongsak was quoted as saying. Pongsak represented the Thais in negotiations with Liverpool's management, the newspaper said.
Thaksin wants Liverpool to help promote professional soccer in Thailand, it said.
Thaksin on March 17 denied newspaper reports saying he was in talks to buy shares in Liverpool. His family was ranked the second richest in Thailand, with a net worth of $1 billion in 2002, according to Forbes Magazine.

i have no worries FM.
all and sundry are saying Utd are gone to pot.
fine by me as no expectations next season from the Media..
the pressure is on Chelsea to prove they are not a flash in the pan.
they are now the team to go ahead and win everything.
and less presure for Arsenal as well.
but whoever their Manager is,he will be under intolerable pressure to win the PL.
it will be expected by the owner,the Board and the fans.
they will be watched very closely and if things go wrong there will be a backlash.

Arsenal won the PL,Utd 'could' win the FA Cup.
if they do win the FA Cup then Chelsea for all their money and their 'megastars' will have won nothing........

will it be worth watching?,of course.
my Team are playing and that is a good reason to watch it.....
my Team is in a final this season and can the Arsenal,Chelsea,Newcastle and Liverpool fans say that?
please don't think it is a forgone conclusion,the final worries me.
Utd are expected to walk it but this is not always the case.
i will be so embarrassed if we lose........
