Smith is a class act in my book. I'm not angry at him for going. I must admit I feel betrayed and genuinely think that if he had stayed at Leeds another season the fans would have loved him so much they wouldnt have minded him leaving for Man Utd.

It's interesting (and disappointing) to see him scoring a few now. We loved his attitude and commitment but he rarely scored for us. We thought he was a weak finisher. Now he's getting good service, he's coming into his own.

Good luck to the lad.

Wasn't Paul Ince a success at Inter?

Smiths problem at Leeds was that he was played out of position, hence the lack of Goals.
wide left/right was a waste of his talent, but saying that I can see him sometimes playing there for MU.
it will be interesting to see how Fergie plays the 4 Forwards week-in week-out.

personally I would like to see him play alongside RVN with Rooney just behind them.
i have always thought he was a good finisher and very confident.
but I think his chances are a little limited and he will not play as much as he might because RVN and Rooney are the main Strikers.

there has been bad blood amongst our Teams because of the Transfers between the Teams in the last 30 Years.
we took Jordan and McQueen in the 70's and of course Cantona in the 90's.
while these Players might have left because of their decisions, the cases of Ferdinand and Smith were different.

Leeds had to sell and at the time they reluctantly sold their biggest assets and the fans got upset and rightly so.
Ferdinand was sold for an inflated price as it was a seller's market at the time and MU were desparate to get him.
Smith was sold far too cheaply, but Leeds were desparate and I can understand the Fans anger.
Leeds born and bred and always expressed his love for the Club.
i can understand the booing of the Players when they eventually return to Elland Road for a Game (but that probably won't be in my lifetime).....

i find MU Fans are quite fond of ex-Players and the only one who used to get a bad time recently was Ince (TWAT).
when Newcastle visit this Season and if Butt plays he will get a well received ovation.......

but thinking of Transfers, don't forget you got the bargain of the Century....we sold you Lee Sharpe.......

'May I add Luther Blissett. No? Thought not...'

Made me laugh that mark, Clash fan as well. Top boy.

I think had Leeds had little choice but to unload their stars as did West Ham when they were relegated. Odd that 3 seasons ago I used to watch those 2 sides in the prem when we were in Div 2 thinking we were light years away, now on a very level par. Relegation from the top flight financially is devastating for clubs.

With Leeds' debts Scobie it was probably the only option. I like Alan Smith, would rather a player who puts himself about and shows a bit of passion than have some show pony who wants to play every other game.

LMAO at Lee Sharpe. Yeap, you really turned us over on that one!

We've done ok with taking 'surplus to requirements' Man Utd players too. Johnny Giles and wee Gordon Strachan. Both great creative players.

I'm also hearing good things of this young Danny Pugh fella too.

1st off, there is no 'British nationals' football in the PL. Foreign born players hold the keys, ie., Arsenal, Chelsea, ManU.

2nd, the PL is played with British spirit supported by a few British players, who demonstrate to the foreign born players what it means to never give up, and throw off injuries.

3rd, Serie 'A' is played without the manly concept of fair play. The player who 'fools' the ref and other players is admired. A different spirit, that includes fakers and spitters.

4th, it doesn't matter a damn if England players 'make it' elsewhere, because the PL is the biggest and most loved of all the leagues.

5th, Fastmover was only born in Canada, and never played hockey, never kicked a football round or oblong, but did pitch a wicked side-arm curve ball, till his arm popped. His mom called it rounders, his dad called it baseball. And when it did pop, he didn't fall down like an Italian.

Malaka !

Some people are born thick
Others have being thick thrust upon them
Others rise to being thick

David Beckham is all these things.

There is a difference between honesty and stupidity ?

What's he on ?

The Press are saying he has had another fling with a bimbo !

But.........................

Which one is the bimbo ?

Real are mostly ageing 'has-beens' now !

Young Owen should have gone to Barcelona.

It's colder in Greece in the winter ! I bet Beckham thinks its hot and sunny in winter ! Even snows !

Anyway Greek teams only 'think' they are good.

There are more Greeks in North London or Melbourne !

Maybe I should support Arsenal ?

Yasu !

I wonder if Beckham, with his 'leap' of brilliance to foul, thought of the possibility of injury to the player on the receiving end of this fine display of intelligence.

I think he should have walked up to the player a few minutes before hand and informed the player, "I am going to foul you like a stupid git in a few minutes, so brace yourself."

That's what Victoria would have done. Better press.
