I must say that as a "yank" I will naturally pull for USA; however I will be up pulling for England Saturday and having made so many mates from England in my 3 1/2 years in Thailand I will cheer for England.
I know it means so much more to the "red coats" LOL!
call me gay, but I think it would be great to see Beckham (I know he is not Ronoldinio) win a world cup with England.
This is going to be a great 3 weeks, I wish I was watching with my mates back in BKK.

Great thought yurune, that is one thing beckham would be good for SHARK BAIT.
England wouldn't even make it to the next round except for good honest players like Rooney, Neville, Cole, Gerrard etc, Beckham for the last 2 or 3 years has been nothing but an over-paid,egotistical, has-been.

Kinda agree...apart from one year in the national side (2001), Beckham has been pretty rubbish for England, especially in the major tournaments.
1998- sent off against the Argies in vital WC game
2000- at the Euro's gives the V to England fans chanting stuff about his wife (how people recall that now?)
2002-pretends he's fit, and blatantly shown up against Brazil, where chickens out of a challenge and England lose.
2004- should have kept his dick in his pants and concentrated on winning in Portugal.
2006-...??

with all do respect, if your were as sought after by virtually every woman on the planet "keeping your dick in your pants" is probably a shitload more difficult than the average joe, Just ask Clinton (and he is no where near as good looking as Beckham)
BTW, he just made an amazing cross for a goal in the 3rd minute...Nice England!!!!
I like the guy and although he is an overpayed player he draws people to watch his games...many NBA, MLB,NFL players make a ton of $$$ for the same reason.

Just so we keep things factual, BOTH Beckham and the English team failed to score a single goal against a very average team.
If they play like that against the better teams e.g Portugal / Brazil etc they will cop a thumping.
That said they do have the talent, maybe they can turn it around. ( good starting point would be Beckham on the bench and Rooney playing).
