that is funny stuff...everyone else check out the above link, its funny stuff.
As an american that was utterly inthralled in the world cup.. (It just so happened that I scheduled "business" meetings with my closest clients at sports pubs during the last 2 matches that were held at lunch time here in LA. )...I just read that Zidane went on French TV to explain himself.
I must say that I agree with the guy...was it utterly stupid with seeconds left and he being a great PK taker? yes... but afterall he is a very proud man and when a dude is repeatedly having his family racially degredaded I would hope he would stand up. It is just a shame that will haunt his legacy.
He is no ron artest, jumping into the stands an hitting anyone that happens to be near the indescretion he believed to be occuring with his wife...Zidane went right after the guy that was provoking him.
I was pulling for France to win and was a bit pissed that he very well may of cost them the match...but hey, I lost $25 on France and well over $100 on England

While I could care either way – choosing between the frogs and wops is not an easy thing for a septic. But anyone that has participated in sports knows that verbal abuse is part of what goes on out on the field. No matter what was said or how many times it was said in a game this big you only let down your teammates by acting on the verbal insults.
Kudos to Materazzi he found a way to help his team, by provoking action from Zidane. Better than taking a dive like we see so many other times in matches these days.

I agree with IBF on this one. Zidane has what we in the US, that have played some sports before, would call "rabbit ears".
He hears everything that is said and sometimes reacts. Therefore you say things and try to get the guy thrown out when he does react.
He should have just kept walking away and settled it in another time and place.

Smart play by the Italian bloke to get the frenchman sent off. Played right into his hand's and got the desired result.
On a more serious note, a lot of games were decided on the penalty shoot out bit. This is done at the end of the game.
Well.....why not have the penalty shoot out at the start of the game. The whole game may only last 10 mins. Then we can watch some decent football, union, league, afl, grid iron where men are tough and can take a hit without falling to the ground by a breath of wind.

A great game for Scotland, beat them Frenchies.
No stopping 'em now......from what I have no idea, but dere be no stopping 'em.

At my Chelsea shop on the Suk., I have special T-shirts for Brits - one hole for the head and with only one arm hole.
Cause they played like they had one arm tied behind their backs, slow running to the ball as they were.
Ye Irish, of the best and biggest part, and of course Wales, I have shirts, but with no holes at all. Just call 'em shirtbags (shitebags?) - to wear on yer head in shame.
Two for one, the other will come in handy, likely for the next game.
Lucky for me as a Chelsea fan, everyday is a cheery day!
