Hi,
I am planning my fourth trip to Thailand this coming March and have told the girl friend I am off to the Formula One in Malaysia. She has family coming in March and that is why I have booked the trip then.
I was wondering what others tell their partners and if they have been caught out.

March will be my 16th trip since Feb 04, I just tell her I need a break...pressure is too much at home...she never argues as in 21 yrs of being married we have had 1 holiday together, was our 20th wedding anniversary...guess where I took her...Bangkok

I've done the same number of trips as wowser but in the last 3 years (travel to Europe for work quite a bit). Wife has been with me on 3 trips. She now knows I play up but as long as I'm discrete, practice safe sex (as much as it can be) and don't tell her the details it's sweet.
We've been married 22 years and I can honestly say that with the exception of TG's in the last three years, I've been faithful. The wife knows if my Thailand pursuits are not permitted then it's over. Probably will anyway one day but I prefer to defer that unpleasantness as long as possible.
To guys looking for excuses...for about 12 months I got away with relaxation (pool, legit massage, etc), cheap shopping (for me & family members) and the odd offload by the airline.

lots of similar things as above....as I grew up in Aisa she knows I have lots of friends in that region, friends of our family, so even though she might whinge sometimes she knws better than to say "no u cant go". But then again she goes home toi Mauritius every year and this year in Sept gets 6 weeks in Paris for her nephews wedding. I declined to go as my french isnt as good as it use to be

I am sure there must be a way to make money from this? You could have something like buy a vacation for 1000 baht.
This could include such items as
*CD with tourist pictures of all the main places
*Some fake back drops of the locations that you get to stand in front of and have your picture taken
*A t-shirt from the place
*2-3 Postcards from the place that could be mail forwarded and posted from the correct location
*You could have maybe 6-10 fake vacation packages that included all the above.
You could be a man of the world traveling to a new place each time yet just going and buying your fake vacation for 1000 baht each time you are in BKK.
Then you would just say you were visiting whatever country and when in BKK buy you fake vacation. Write a couple postcards, get your CD of picture (a few added with you in them)
Not sure how you would get around the passport stamp problem 
They have fake just about everything in Thailand why not vacations?

Passport problem. Maybe if you cross over to Cam and back right away you'll get some stamps that could be misleading enough. There used to be a lot of agencies in Bkk that did fake visas or stamps for folks too inconvenienced to travel (til the crackdowns a few years ago--but those crackdowns were associated with visas for work permits). I suppose some one of them could be coordinated in this.

Credibility is the key. Your travel to Thailand needs to be a by-product of who they think you are. For example, increase the frequency of your golf games and then tell your partner you have "won" a weeks free green fees in Bangkok. Learn to SCUBA dive and then take a tour with your buddies to Phuket. Big game fishing, Asian cooking classes, researching your book, the list goes on.
Major advice, set the scene now whilst she is still the GF. You will need that yearly break more than ever once she is your farang wife. Enjoy.
