Congratulations Balls, you did in 5 years what I did in 5 hours. My way worked for us, I am sure your way works for you and your woman. Let's hope there will be some stories. There seem to be quite a few married members residing in US, on this board.
Can you not apply for a tourist visa with a quicker turnarround time and then marry in the US and get a permanent visa on that basis?
I suspect maybe US regulations are strickter on this.

I just wanted to join the others in congratulating you. I'm seriously considering doing the same when I can afford it. I lived with my TGF for 2 1/2 years in Thailand. She's a great girl and I've missed her terribly since I came back to the USA. Once I get back on my feet financially, I'm going to give it a go. I may use the same service.

took us about 6 1/2 months from submission to arrival back in the ATL, I belive that was the texas center as well..
when she gets here you guys will apply for adjustment of status which will take another few months, but at least she will be here.....in your bed

Best of luck to you and the little TG. My wife has been in the states for over a year and is VERY happy. fyi, don't give your number to ATL. If so, expect some calls at odd hours from ATL and his little Thai girl.  I may have to change my number.

Don't let the inevitable frustrations of the visa process upset you or your TG - they are temporary and forgotten forever the moment she comes thru the arrivals gate.

Regarding your suggestion about getting a tourist visa 1st and then marrying in Amerika, well, great minds think alike. We tried that approach in summer 2005, and after spending lots of time preparing docs for that interview, she was turned down in less that 3 minutes. Total bullshit. But it was worth a try, as that would have solved the distance issue.
So I figured since we are still together and I'm working a gig on the Amerikan side of the pond, then time to make up my mind about what I was doing with my TGF.
I'll post the progress of this process as it unfolds. I imagine it will be uneventful, as Brian has good connections and a high success rate. I will be very curious to see my TGF's face when she first steps onto Amerikan soil. I hope she's wearing hip boots, lol!

Unfortunately, I hate to admit this, but I agree with the good old Doctor, but the absurd VISA laws in the USA makes marriage the pretty much only viable way.
Balls, I hate to rain on your parade, but be prepared for her to be underwhelmed. In fact just recently a friend of mind took his TGF to the USA and he managed to get a visitor's VISA and she wanted to get on the next flight back home.
For the most part Thai's do not travel well and unless she is a metro kind of girl or a loner than she will long to come back to Thailand.
Being that you now reside in NM the road will be rough for her. Many have success stories in CA where at least you have a big Asian community. There is even a Thai town in LA, but NM.
I wish you good luch as you will need it.
On a brighter note, the VISA process is a breeze. I did it myself with no problems.
