Despite what others have posted I find it useful for the newbie to have up to date info on current pricing. I haven't been to BKK in a year or so. I'll write about Pattaya and I was there last July. I paid 500 ST & 1K LT. This was with beer bar BG and BG from soi 6. I also pulled from the FLB on Walking Street at my current pricing. I got no knockbacks last trip.
I arrive back in Pattaya on 20 December and I'll report on current pricing during high season.

I have not taken a bird from a beer bar in over a year. I do have a couple of contacts that typically hang out in beer bars that I call on occasion but we generally just meet at a ST hotel.
In any case in BKK Go-Go bars recently I have paid 500 BF, and typically 1000/1500 ST, 1500/2000 LT. Generally speaking I do not negotiate price in advance, and I have yet to have a lady complain about the amount I give her.
About the only time I do negotiate price is if I sense a possible problem/ issue related to service or LT vs ST. For example I find that many of the ladies working NANA seem to have more of a volume attitude and look for ST over LT – especially early in the evening. So about half the time I do talk price in NANA to make sure all parties are on the same page – but this relates more to making sure they understand I am looking for LT. But if I pick up a bird in NANA for ST, I typically do not talk price in advance.
I am certain that you can get it for less, and even work out something with the lady to avoid paying the BF, if you want to hang out somewhere waiting for her bar to close. But I have found the above rates to be fairly equitable to all parties involved.

Well, if there was just one thread for this topic, called something like RATES, instead of being scattered all over the Forum, it would simplify matters for those who needed an idea about current general rates (ie, those who have never come to BKK before or not for eons).
We could just write: Same as last year.
And so, so on, they could just follow that thread back til a change occurred.

i have found in my days in los the price is pretty set as the rates posted by IB..but if you do "hit it off" with a girl you can get a better price...I have found that beer bar girls are better at this than gogo chicks..
usually if you can swing a bit of charm and actually swing a dinner or drinks at a bar (outside of their bar) then you can maybe get 1500 LT...
but its all in your style..i guess in the end you will be paying the said price after drinks but you will have a better time and maybe even get a break the 2nd or 3rd time around..if you are there for extended time..

In assessing the exchange rate of the $US one must distinguish between the rate in Thailand and the rate outside Thailand.In his post of 29 November Sirtitus laments that 1 $US buys only 30.7 baht.That was the rate of exchange outside Thailand.Today Bangkok Bank quotes 33.47 baht for $US50-100 bills and 33.74 for traveller`s cheques exchanged in Thailand.However,it is easy to get an exchange rate closer to the traveller`s cheque rate when exchanging cash say,on today`s Bangkok Bank`s rate,of 33.6.Ignoring any security concerns cash gives a higher net rate of exchange than traveller`s cheques because there are no taxes payable when exchanging cash.
