It has been my pleasure to have had LastSurvivor as a house guest for the past few days. Today we were tiring of playing some incredibly savage cribbage games so decided, at the urging of our respective wives, to go see Erawan Cave.
Now, to get to the top and see the Buddha and enter Erawan Cave, there is the little matter of climbing the stairs to reach it. There are 598 steps to the top.
LastSurvivor, being somewhat younger and considerably more energetic, decided to climb the stairs all the way up to see the Buddha.
I, being somewhat more sedentary, decided to sit in my air conditioned auto and drink beer.
My question is....which one of us was smarter?

On my visit to the Erawan Cave I was alone. I was also the only white guy on the hill that morning so it made for a fun time as school girls seemed more willing to come up and talk to me in the darkness of the cave. It just so happens I look my best in total darkness. Everyone else up there was kind and interested in the white guy also, so it was great. If I was there with a wife....mmmm, I think you made the right call.
I don't know where you live or anything, but if you are ever over near Bung Kan there is a temple at Phu Tock which has walkways all around the hill that its on. I thought it more interesting/scenic than Erawan.
