Nice little bit of trivia for you boys. Heaven Above GG in PTY was bought with poker winnings. The owner still plays, but they are private big money games. Not for the faint-of-heart, or wallet.

Lucky, the Embassy guys are all experienced and not a game for new learners. If you live in BKK, I would suggest friendly games with friends and leaqrn as you go. If you live outside LOS, Learn as you go.
BUT, since you have this thing about cards, ask ANY Thai to teach you Som Sip (make ten).
A very simple game and theThais LOVE to gamble while playing. In fact, buy (very expensive) a deck of cards or better yet, bring a few from where you are at.
Have your 'date' you have in the room sit with you and teach you. Give her a pile of 10 baht coins or 20 baht bills (you will soon see how bad the habit to gamble is) and have the girl teach you how to play in your room.
You will see she cannot stop herself from betting higher and higher amounts.
I have watched dirt poor people bet a days earnings on single hands over and over again and I saw first hand how bad the gambling bug is embetted into Thais.
Remember, these games for money are illegal except for during Songkran. They also have a game which have dice with synbols on them. Each side is a different animal or fish. On the boad there are squares with the same figures. Bets are made on the board as to how the dice will fall. Call it 'poor man's crap's'. Also, this game is illegal except during Songkran. It's the money part that is illegal, not the game. But Thais just can't help themselves. They need monet attached to the game.
I would say this, once you learn to play som sip, you could have your favorite girl and 1 or 2 of her friends sit around naked in your room and play, as long as they bring their own baht. Being naked is a must as you can lick, youch, kiss, f***, suck or whatever during thegame for fun. In fact, you could say "ok, if I win this one, you both have to suck me at the same time". Gee, I wonder if that has happened to me?
Anyway, I digress........ Learn a fun local card game, surround yourself with young good looking girls, everyone is naked and drunk...... I once played in a game that went on for 3 days, never a break. People would come and go from the game to sleep, eat, etc., but there was always someone standing nearby to join in.

Hey Thailife,
If its possible to play with embassy personal, noprob. I guess I am experienced with poker texas nl. SO if you are in a position to introduce me there or somewhere else: great! I love to play everywhere I come. 
By the way may be its an idea to play with a few interested forum members? I can bring cards if some else take care of the chips (little heavy in the suitcase). I arrive in BKK again August 23nd.
About the other game. It think this is a great idea. Thanks!
