Your point is well taken, it really is much ado about nothing - EXCEPT - that some TGFs are absolutely bonkers about letting you out of sight from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, for fear that you will be enticed by "one of those girls"!

Why did you agree to have her meet you at the Airport in the first place?
"I will call you when I get to BKK" always works for me, and lets you have all the flexibility you need.

Sounds to me like the airport is missing out on a money maker here. Charge an optional 500 baht arrival fee that lets you enter the departure area with your luggage and then turn around and leave the area again

This is a very good question. I always wondered why guys have chicks meet them at the airport.  Seems like a waste of the girls time. Isn't it better to get to your hotel and get unpacked?
It is your holiday, getting into the habit of adjusting your behaviour to that of another is not a great way to start, in my opinion.

I agree with CG and Baquawn: its your vacation. Tell her that you will contact her when you are ready.
I had the opposite happen: my TGF wanted to meet me at the airport and I was willing for her to do so. Flight came in on time and I exited the usual way. No TGF. Since my SIM was expired I couldn't call her to find out where she was.
I had told her that if she wasn't where I could find her that I would not search for her - just grab a taxi and go to the hotel. I did so.
I recharged my SIM and within 30 seconds got a call from TGF. "Where are you?". "I'm at my hotel - where are you?" "At airport waiting for you!"
Turns out she was waiting where AG had suggested you come out. 555

This comment by AG could/should evolve into its own thread.
I have dealt with this attitude with my TGF by just telling her the truth:
"I'm going to Patpong to see the Gogos with Dr Love. I'll be back to the hotel late. You don't have to wait for me."
"I'm going to Nana with RTB and Defresh711. Don't know what time I will get back to hotel."
"I'm going to Soi Cowboy with Wowser34 and others. See you when I am done."
"I'm going to the Office on Soi 33 with CG, Dr Love, MicktheKick and others. See you when I see you."
"I'm going to visit some of my Thai Uni girl friends. I'll be gone all day."
"I'm going shopping all day with friends for CDs, DVDs, shirts, etc."
Funny, but she got use to me just telling her where I would be and accepted it. Once or twice she did check up on me, but since I was telling her the truth it didn't matter. Of course, I didn't tell her everything that I did in Patpong, Nana, Soi Cowboy, etc.
The best one was when I had seen enough of her for a while and told her one morning "TGF - I want you to leave hotel for a couple of days and not come back until I call you. I'm going to bring another girl to hotel room." Her response was a classic - "Don't let other girl use my toothbrush."

Thats funny. Never over estimate her emotional involvement.
I agree, with not bending your holiday to plans of a TG. They are not masters in planning anything.
I agree, that if you give them more variations of the truth then BS, you will be better off, and they will like that you have some balls.

Are guys worried if they f*** things up with the "TGF" they wont get another and the vacation will be wasted? If so they really should stay out of LOS before they get in trouble.
