I may be wrong, but I thought the difference between K bar and K show, was that a K show only the hostesses did the singing on some sort of stage.
I agree with MrJoe "Heaven and Hell", but at least at a K Show have some sort of standard to the singing.
Went to one once in SGP, and fortunately I was the quest and did not need to pay for the drinks.

It's getting more and more interesting!
As I see now, there are Karaoke Bars, where some of them provides Karaoke shows starring with the local ladies of the bar! If you like one or more of them, you can take them up to a private room (where - at some places - there are also karaoke equipment) or to your location and f_ck the hell out of them! It seems to be more like a special kind of roleplaying! It sounds very funny!

An interesting experience in a karaoke bar in Maesod:
This was in a bar that opened to the street, with a stage in the back. We bought the ladies a bunch of beers over the course of the evening, and then chatted them up (using a dictionary and a lot of sign language). Turns out, this group of ladies (late 20's into late 30's) travel around Thailand as professional karaoke singers. One cutie (mid 30's) really seemed to like me and I am sure, had I proposed that night, we would have been married the next morning (actually, I'm not kidding about this). They gave us no indication that they did anything other than sing, but you never know what they might do when on the road (their home base was Maesod). Still haunted by that one lady's smile (fortunately got a pic of her).
