Never had a problem last year in BKK at New Year. I think for 1 night the Social Order Campaign goes out the window or even the usually tolerant thais would be rioting.
I don't go there normally but Silom Soi 4 last year was brilliant. A really mixed crowd getting OTT.
Personally I would give Pattaya a wide berth.

Kind of missed all the shows. We were seated at the far end of the bar and the view towards stage was not that good. The view at the bar was better though....
Maybe after that 2nd bottle of VoBKa things were kind of hazy anyway.

Oh that night! Manuel, was that the one when you flashed your belly from the counter of the bar? I didn't pay much attention to the shows either that night.
Formen, your plan about Pattaya sounds much better. But I am not sure about having LY drive us around. I am not that sure he will be able to keep his eyes on the road. Maybe better if we have him doing serving us the drinks while we are at home. This way he can actually see us drink and have fun and not risk a driving accident.

Come on.....I will be there for christmas and new years too.....so where is a good place to party????
Last year spent new years eve with GF who wont be around this time  near World Trade Center and watched the fireworks......yawn........then to beer garden till about 4:30am........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
