IMHO I would assume you know from reading your first your post that you are a older gentlemen. You are in a chat room as well as like MSN Messenger they can send you a picture of their sister and you will never figure it out till you meet her. Interesting? yes, insightful? I dont know.
I mean, I dont doubt this girl is a uni student - her english language clearly shows she is fairly well educated (as well as bright). I am also perfectly prepared to accept that she is about to become a bar girl for the first time tomorrow.
But, in reality, she became a 'bar girl' a while ago.
She calls her 'internet friends' - 'customers'
She is a fairly aggressive internet freelancer
She is freelancing while her farang bf is getting her a visa
As for the lack of choices, poor parents, continuing study stuff... well a lot of people go through university without any parental support. With her brains and language skills she could easily fund her way through uni without turning into a bar girl freelancer or hooker.
My guess is that she merely found the internet freelancer route the simplest and easiest way forward. Bar girl, as a holiday job or even a career seems a natural progression.
