Well I don't mean to get into another argument with you over this but let me simply say that to me the word itself is inherently racist and ALWAYS offensive.

I agree with Mr. Joe. The word itself is offensive and I am sure that NewGuy has used it knowingly. One can only draw that one conclusion after reading the entire sentence. So in one sentence he has insulted an entire race and women per se.
My earlier post was just to give him a chance to explain before condemning him. I am happy that all the members of the forum who have posted except yourself agree with me.

Again I will point out (as I did on another thread) that I saw his sig on his first or second post in which this guy point blank insulted The Family -- so I've got to say I don't have much respect for the guy's judgement or conduct in general.

I agree with the majority here but for slightly different reasons in addition to what have already been posted.
I don't really care if NewGuy has a valid explanation for using it, even if everyone here presently were to accept it, or even if it is in common and accepted use where he is from.
The fact of the matter is that this is an open and public forum and that it is guarenteed that a percentage of new people to the board, probably a significantly high percentage, would take offence and more than likely come to wrong conclusions about not only the board itself but the people who are members as well.
I would partially agree with ccvvbb in that it needs no explanation, I would say it needs to be GONE, period, end of story.

Mr. J - Would you happen to be able to post a link or tell me which thread he posted in that you are referring to that included the disrespectful post?
He has 11 posts but doing a search I can only find 3 of them. I remember rtb posting something that was taken as being disrespectful, for which he later appologized but there's 8 posts by NewGuy that I can't find.
That having been said, rtb's post could be debated as to whether or not it actually was disrespectful, although I don't want to get into the debate, but if NewGuy's post was openly so, and BK hasn't caught it yet, he, as well as his signature needs to be GONE.

And please don't anyone call me PC because I've felt this way for about 30 years -- long before PC was coined. It's the way I was raised and I don't have any desire to change that aspect of myself.
