Ok - my dimes worth of opinion: Been there, done it all, seen it all - and what do I still mostly prefer? Beerbars for sure!
I feel like the golddigger going out with has panhandle looking for that rare gem. Seldom found but when struck - wow! Through the years I can say for sure that my record is: GOGOS: 1 - BEERBARS: 99!
It is more relaxed. You come and go at an easier pace. Drinks are usually cheaper and it is a lot easier to chat someone up!

I've been an LOS regular and now resident for several years and I've been to many Pattaya beerbars and the former Clinton Plaza BB's. I don't visit go go bars because I don't like the pushy mamasans and girls asking for LD's, and I don't like the smoke either. I love BB's because I can sit and drink a cold one in an open air environment, and not be hassled to buy LD's. My method is to walk around a BB complex and look at the available talent. I try to find a BB that appears "fun" and lively. If a girl catches my eye I buy her a drink and talk. I prefer that a girl "flirt" with me since that's a sign of interest and self confidence. A big advantage of BB's is that you can play games or pool and develop a rapport, which is difficult in a GG bar. I look for a girl that has a playful attitude and looks are secondary. I've had a couple of duds but the vast majority have been fun.

Jojje & Tom, I have to agree with you 100%. Now my experience is more a feeling then a scientific research spanning decades and hundreds of subjects like you. But I never had any trouble or lies or whatever from a beerbargirl. And judging from all the stories here, that would mean I'm either lucky or an expert judge of character.
