... maybe this is a life coach, or a behavorial psychologist sort of thing... take a step beyond our locker room trash talk and get counsel from someone trained in sorting through complex human behavior problems.
... at 38, massageslave, it won't be much longer before you will be looking back at this as a 'lifelong' problem... don't end up on your death bed with THAT regret.

exactly.
it isnt MS lack of physical fitness that is holding him back. plenty of fat guys get laid like rock stars here
it isnt his hearing loss that is the problem. he has had this his whole life, so going through life w/o a soundtrack is business as usual.
his problem is his unreasonable expectations of what happens in the bars in thailand i.e. that the hottest girls in the bar would come a-runnin' to his side when he daintly set his behind in a seat, begging him to BF them.
when it isnt 100% as to his liking, he just gets up and leaves, whether is is because it is too smokey for his liking in SC bars, or that some asian mongers have arrived prior to him and are chatting up the girls he prefers.
his lack of experience results in his not thinking to just hangout there a while to wait to see if the guys get up and leave w/o BFing the girls....if a girl I like is occupied, i'll give it 30 min or so (enough for a shift change or two) to see what happens....
his idea that he is getting more attention now due to a drop in asian tourists is just nuts.
I dont think anyone has ever gotten the level of guidance before and during a trip than he has.
he, and he alone, is responsible for the outcomes he has experienced here.

if you want to troll the GoGos with the hot girls in BKK, i.e Shark, Baccara, RB1-4 you better be ready to deal with the issues associated with them.....otherwise go to SuzieWong, Shebas, Dollhouse, Playschool etc...... all of which have BFable fun/GFE girls in them
when one persons experience a situation is very different from most other people's in that same situation, the issue is the person (for whatever reason), not the situation.

Well, it is now my last night in Bangkok... I fly out tomorrow.
I came across a street stall in Pattaya that introduced me to the wonderful world of Roti. Since I've been back to Bangkok, I've been searching for a Roti stall, and only came across ONE, and (I kid you not) he ran out of pastry just before my turn to order. And I haven't found him since. So, my last question... Does anyone know of a Roti street stall in Bangkok?

Sure, there are plenty of other places he can go for girls -- but based on the scenario that played out here, the problem wasn't 'Thailand' the problem was 'ms' - no, not his hearing disability, rather his personality, behavior, neurosis, or whatever you want to call it. He'll be taking those with him wherever else he'll be going, and nothing will changed - except for possibility his environment will be more unsafe, the girls will be less attractive, or more mechanical, or more expensive, or more scams.
In terms of for a newbie to to realize his fantasies, safely, Thailand is pretty much the soft-spot in terms of destinations.
Kudos for DrLove for initially taking ms under his wing, and giving him one of his world-famous tours so that he's had an initial lay of the land...
jeers to everybody else who was in town, participated on this thread, and did the best they could to avoid ms.
The guy could have done with 1-2 wingmen to help him out and take him around a couple of nights, which (I guarantee) could have made a world of difference to ms' outcome. Claims to have seen ms, and decided that he was doing fine, at best, ring very hollow.
I'm sorry ms has had a bad experience, though I disagree that "Thailand is not for him" - his biggest problem is himself, not Thailand.

Dude, this is approaching BS levels, now. There are plenty of roti stands all over the place -- there's at least two spread across Soi4 / Nana, there are several along the opposing Soi 3 side, and there's a number of them along Sukhumwit, especially after closing time up Sukhumwit.
Look in Soi 5 (where Gulliver and Beer Garden are), as well as around the Soi 7 area.
Yes, roti (especially with banana slices) is yummy. Get yours.
