I had been slowly coming to that realization myself. I had thought that the post counter under each person's post would reflect changes due to posts being deleted also but it seems now that it doesn't.

That's also the reason I was trying to find his original posts, and part of the reason I started the "Poster's post" thread. In the future I'll just wait for Mr. J to say, "Boom, shields up, phasers and photon torpedoes at full, make it so!" ;)
BK - Good job. It's just a shame that guys come around that forced you to do it in the first place but from what people are saying, I'm glad now that I didn't get to read his posts! Rock on BK!

Just for the record, I want to say that I think BK's decision to axe these threads was absolutely correct and probably essential.
Re the guidelines, it would probably be better for people to avoid any discussion of Thai royalty here. The basic subject matter of this forum makes it quite inappropriate.

Arcadius - I heartily agree on both counts.
The first could effect the lifetime of this board as well as get BK into trouble. Also, someone just PM'd me with what the guy said and now I'm sorry I tried to be diplomatic in my previous response!!!!! A previous thrashing I received here recently bothered me not at all but what this guy wrote sent my heart rate and BP through the roof! 
The second, although a fascinating and heart lifting subject, to discuss it here would in many ways be both a dishonor and dis-service to those that many of us hold in such high esteem.
I'm with you Arcadius on both counts!

I am amazed to see how much this post has gone way off topic. Also, some of you guys really must have a lot of time on your hands
I am also surprised to see how strongly people react to my sig. It is a political/social statement in support for women all over the world, and has nothing what so ever to do with being negative about the black people. It was to my knowledge first uttered by the late John Lennon. It is also indirectly a criticism of racism.
It seems that some members of this board have something to be desired when it comes to knowledge of their current and near history. I will advice them to read a book or two, and also check info before they go down to hard on people.
I am sorry about the post about the ****, but after beeing able to discuss this with Thai friends (Just one trip to Thailand so far), I figured it would be even easier to discuss this on a board full of westerners.
I agree that disussing the forbidden topic with uneducated Thai's will bring about the same result as achieved here on this board, and I would never engage in that.
I hope to be able to contribute to the board with good feedback and info.

NewGuy - I understand your explanation but I still find your signature troublesome. One suggestion I could make would be to attribute it to the original author in parenthesis.
On the other issue, would your Thai friends that you had these discussions with agree to do so in public on a public forum? I also doubt that any Thai would have any discussions in any way shape or form that would lead you to the ideas you have. But, if you say it happened, I won't argue except to say that private conversations are private and not necessarily acceptable in public. Remember, this IS a public forum.

Before you begin advising people to read books, you ought to try a few yourself. Start with the dictionary, 'm' section, 'monger'.
And then come back with your blanket statements about royalty, and your deep and humble concern for the women of the world.

Well, as one who has made a feeble attempt to defend you here, I certainly second that hope. However, I am bound to say that on the evidence of this latest post, your 'humility' still has a long way to go.
1) Your sig. I don't know how 'women all over the world' feel about your kind gesture of ideological support, but you'd be well advised to stow it if and when dealing with Thai BGs. The least educated rice farmer's daughter from the back end of Isaan knows exactly how to turn this sort of baloney into extra dollars - after all, she's heard it 1,000 times before. Of course, it's possible that she might quite like you and decide to take pity on your naivete..
2) THE subject. If it is true that you have discussed this with Thai friends in LOS, then either you must have expressed yourself 50 times more tactfully than on this board, or else you were exceptionally lucky. The idea that respect for the monarchy in Thailand correlates with lack of education is pure horseshit, and can only reflect your own preconceptions of how things ought to be rather than any empirical observation of how things actually are. Given your views on this topic, you would be extremely well advised to keep your trap firmly shut next time you are in LOS. Discussing this with Thai friends in the West is a whole different ball-game of course - on Western turf, Western rules apply.
3) The need for people here to 'read a book or two'. This is truly insufferable and makes me think you must be about 18. If you explore these threads, you will find that there are a great many people of many nationalities on this forum who are at least as intelligent, well-educated and well-read as yourself. Unlike you, they also demonstrate an ability to think well outside the parameters of conventional Western thought, let alone the tin-pot confines of contemporary PC dogma. Just conceivably, you might have a lot to learn from people whose knowledge (and lived experience) of this profoundly unWestern civilisation is hugely superior to your own. I know I do.
Finally, are you indeed a 'guy'? From the way you write, I'm far from convinced. Not that I'd be complaining if you aren't. The two things this (imho, superb) forum needs are more women participants, and more Thais of both (in fact, all 3) sexes.
