It looks like I will be in Bangkok on Feb. 12 - 13, which I understand is Makha Bucha Day and then the following day is "Substitute for Makha Bucha Day". It does appear that most businesses are open. And yes, I have used the search engine here, but found nothing. Can someone tell me whether a) massage places and bars are open; and b) if so, will it be more crowded than usual?
Since I like to give out information as much as extracting it, here is a link I found on Makha Bucha Day, an apparent list of Thai Holidays and some good websites I found wiith useful info on Bangkok.

Artisan - Thank you, it appears somewhat more restrictive than I thought. I will email some MPs and see if they are open. Apparently this holiday is not at the same time each year and its date varies with the lunar cycle, so it's something to keep in mind.

I sent an email to Akane, this is what I got back:
You do not have to book for your visiting,
but you may need to wait for little while when you arrive.
Specially on 11th and 12th are public holiday in Thailand
so our shop will be really busy so
I recommend you to book, before your visiting.

I will be in Pattaya on 2 - 5 May. I understand that 5 May is Coronation Day and the bars will be closed. Will it also be closed on the night of 4 May.
