I think thai girls will judge you how much you know about p4p when they are talking to you asking many questions.
In my cases, I've been never quoted that much money except Bacarra (agreed 3k for L/T eventually).
Almost all cases ladies quote me the average going rate or a little bit more then I make it to the average going rate or sometimes chearper than that if I spent too much money for fun/drinking with the lady.
I think if your way of negotiating price does not work you should take anyther way.

But you are correct, in the sense that this inflation has more to do with the opening bid, than it does with the ultimate price agreed upon. Whether she stands her ground, and insists upon her opening bid, depends on too many factors and variables to comfortably list here and now. Some of them have to do with her own situation and perspective, some of them have to do with you. But don't worry, you'll never know which it is.

I agree DG, BKK is no place to be a cheap charlie, and PTY is way easier on your (limited) budget.
But I also find that BKK, in contrast to PTY (where everything lives and breathes the p$p indexes), is where the most unexpected and, so to speak, out of price deals have come my way. The freebies, the incredibly hot chicks who tell me "up to you" (and mean it), the girls who insist on paying for stuff, the giks and semi-giks, and so on.
Do I end up spending more money in BKK over time? Undoubtedly. But it is also the place where money seems to matter less, in some ways. It is certainly where I am forced to negotiate less and receive more for my money.
Of course, it is all a matter of perspective. I am addicted to the GFE, and I find more of it in BKK than PTY. Because the dynamics, in my opinion, are more fluid and complex than in Vegas (PTY).
On the other hand, I can serially molest more girls in one evening in PTY for less money than I ever can in BKK. And that is primarily why I go there, for the sheer quantity and variety of molesting.
As for being a cheap charlie, well, let's just say it doesn't pay to be a cheap charlie in either place, because the only one you are cheating, at the end of the trip, is yourself.
