Well it's time to look at booking another 2 weeks in Thailand
I must admit I come here for one main reason really that I'm sure many of you are familar with - Issan folk music. On my last trip at countless festivals and cultural gatherings I managed to record enough material to fill up my iPod, quite a feat considering the advances in modern semiconductor memory capacity. With this objective ticked off my list I now have enough Isaan music to last me for years
My attention has now turned to other areas of interest in this lovely, but very hot country. I was looking at Thai cooking classes, traditional thai dance, or advancing my knowledge Thai/Lao language and culture
However at a Nongkhai festival last trip I met a young local girl that was sitting with a creepy looking farang who looked like George Burns. The man was actually her husband. A nice chap but I must question his taste in music for as soon as the folk music started he put on a pair of ear-muffs
Among my conversation with him he did say one thing that I remember to this day, "get yourself down to Bangkok and get yourself some poon". Once I found out what this meant I thought darn it next trip I'm going to take his advice and go for it
I have been told by several Hotel cleaning ladies I am "man with big heart" for leaving the occassional tip so I feel meeting a lady in bangkok shouldn't be too hard, well I'm hoping anyway
My question is, Where can I find a girl with big brown eyes and long black hair?

tezza, I truly think your best bet is heading up to RoiEt. I hear that is the place to find everything you are looking for, and at good prices too. None of that dual pricing, where tourists pay more, and most of the bad locals are in Bangkok protesting now, so it's just the very friendly big brown eyed, long black haired females that you are looking for.
I would strongly recommend heading to RoiEt to fill all your needs at this time. Cooking lessons, learning the language, the whole works.

Khon Kaan is much bigger than Roiet & had plenty of University poonanny running around
I'm a little adverse to Eesahn variety & prefer Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai though.

He'll get a better emersion in Thai/Lao isaan dialect in RoiET........lolol. Afterall it is the center of Isaan. All roads lead to RoiEt...lol.

And what did he mean by "poon"? I've still not figured that one out. I've looked in my English-Thai dictionary but no joy. I've even asked Mrs Shreddie but all she gave me was a blank look.
The best guess I can come up with is that it is a special type of food found only in Bangkok - but as I say that's just a guess, so don't laugh if its wrong.
