For dental, I dont think you can go wrong if you go to any International Hospitals...but their prices may be higher than the outside offices.
Agoda is a good site. I use it alot lately since they accept PayPal so I dont have to use my credit card and pay extra overseas fee. As always, look on Friday for any deals.
Yeah, I dont want to go into the beach water in Pattaya...but in Pattaya, you can take a boat/ferry out the island and the water there is alot nicer.

Since this may be your only trip to Thailand. I recommend 7 days in BKK and then head to Pattaya for 14 days. Pattaya is easy to get to and once your there, easy to get around. Think of the entertainment area as a rectangle about 3 miles long and three miles wide. Pattaya has thousands of bars and so many bar girls. Prices for hotel and BG are way cheaper then BKK. Check out http://www.pattayatalk.com for up to date and accurate info. Like BKK, Pattaya is safe.
Only use bottled water. Tap water is not safe to drink. When you use a taxi make sure the driver uses the meter.
I always discuss price and performance with the BG before I pay bar. Saves a bit of drama later in the room.
I leave my credit and ATM card in the room safe. When I bring a BG back to the room. I lock up all valuables in the safe. I leave out what I'm going to pay the girl in the morning.
Get the hotel business card with the address in Thai. Makes it easier to get back late at night.
