Hey all - well I'm not really a newbie - but its been nearly 8 years since I dabbled with P4P.
Been happily living in Isaan with wife and son - seems like forever since I was tempted or had a chance.
In January I am on a 3 week course at an institution in Bangkok 
My wife kind of trusts me but has given me a budget for the trip - despite what many have said about TG's and our money - she is very good with dealing with all things financially- much better than me in fact.
I'm there for 20 nights - Hotel already booked and paid for - I have another 40,000 for food and stuff.
Ok this is small money - I could do that in a few days - but it's a fair amount for someone living in Thailand - my monthly salary is no much more.
Of course I could glean a bit more - put a few extra away etc - but I'm not going primarily for the nightlife ( honest )
However this seems too good an opportunity and I have been a good boy
The course includes breakfast/lunch and dinner.
My plan is to spend about 6/700 per day Mon - Thu and Sun and the rest ( about 5000 per day ) have for a decent Fri/Sat night ( 5 in all )
as mentioned before - I haven't been on the scene for 8 years and need some refreshing with new prices and establishments - even 5k isn't much these days I guess.
I do drink as well - so looking forward to letting my hair down on the weekends and maybe having a few cheeky liasons on the quieter nights.
Any tips for beer bars that may have some cheapies on offers, also what are the current decent Gogo bars in the NEP area? ( I'm staying at the Dynasty soi 4 )

... but, I can't get past that first part... that your wife "kind of trusts" you, and that you are staying at Dynasty Inn!... she is astute enough to take care of the family budget better than you, so I assume she is more than the typical "smart like a goldfish, sly like a fox" Thai girl.
... my bet is your greater challenge will be avoiding the minefield of traps lying in wait for you... the phone calls (... "where you are? you send me picture... now"... "why you not answer when I call you?"... "what that noise I hear?")... the ambush ("I at lobby now... what room you?")... the incriminating phone bill... and other deplorable tactics which women commit against menkind without so much as a scintilla of guilt!
... I'd be more concerned about planning the "how", rather than the "what".
... you are not just married to a Thai, you sound like you are married to Thailand... a wife... a baby... here long enough that your ability to find work elsewhere might be difficult... the risk of failure seems pretty high... if she is the 'attached' sort of Thai wife, and ducks are anywhere in your neighborhood, I'd think this one through... real thoroughly.
... without a free pass, maybe confine your activities to low-risk encounters, in low-risk venues, during low-risk hours.

sound advice given by Magnum take heed I stay at dynasty its 24 /7 free lancer are outside even sex in the hotel barber shop available and thats without mentioning all the other shit in that whole area like NP.
Dont think for one minute your girl dont know that, there are basically two ways either be bloody carefull or make a deal with some expensive jewelry when you come back. As your budget wont afford expensive bits of gold for f***s sake use only st hotels and cover your tracks. Remember even if she does not come to check other family or friends can be used for such porpose.
Never take ladys to your room imagine the shit when the missus appears downstairs and you have a lady in the room,book another hotel for that would be my advice.
I had it once my step daughter was in the room 19 yrs old and the front desk were hesitant to let my wife come up but they did even though they thought I had a hooker in the room wonderful service not.
I have been married for 12 yrs I know all the irritating jealous shit they pull. Im planning to leave mine ASAP and im currently busy with a flipper all I can say is thank god for smart phones hallelula.
Anyway enjoy but be bloody carefull even my wife spends the whole day at the family and never once came back in the day. I never ever take women to my room at dynasty inn not even the massage girls from the hotel.Not worth the risk and my peace of mind.

I recommend doing the oilies and soapies during the day that way no one will see what you get up to.
They are cheaper and in my experience you often get better service anyway.

Hey guys - brilliant advice - as expected - and I will definitely take it all on board.
I'm kind of expecting the wife to turn up - with son - unannounced.
Definitely no activity in the room - I expect her to be checking with reception.
Hopefully the ducks will go hungry - I will post a field report for anyone in a similar position.

Wow, seriously, your wife trusts you after that incident...what was it, 7 years ago or so? when you and your brother-in-law(?) took the girls to the ST hotel, and you dumped the two girls' IDs and purses because you thought they ran off with your money when they went to get food? that was you, right? I see your username is slightly different now...
Anyway, if you can get her "permission" to come to BKK after that incident in Isan, more power to you, I say, haha!

morningnight is a favourite. all standard drinks just
65 baht during happy hour. stumble inn next door does beers all day all night for such price.

Would also remind you that Golden Bar, Soi 4 in front of Nana Hotel has cheap drinks, LD's are 60 baht and BF 350 baht.
