Hello all. I will be visiting BKK for the first time in December. I have learned alot about BKK in the last few weeks thanks to your excellent posts. I have a few newbie questions just to confirm some things I read here.
As I will be traveling alone, I was wondering how dangerous it is to walk around at night around Sukhumvit from the bars back to the hotel. I've read various things about katoeys that walk around in groups looking for targets, pickpockets, etc in that area. If alone, should I end my night early or is it safe out at 2am?
From the hotel recommendations on this site, I think I will be staying at the Manhattan, Majestic Suites, Sol Twin Towers, or Jade Pavilion. Which do you think is the most reasonably priced, clean, and best location to the MPs and beer bars? And if I rent it as a double, I guess there is no problem with bringing up a girl to my room as long as she leaves her id at the desk?
I plan on trying out CM2, Sio 7 beer garden, Grace Hotel, Mirage, Annies, Darlings, star of light bar, Thermae and Poseidon. Any comments or recommendations for or against these places? Which would be your top 3?
Do TG's approach the customer's in bars and streets or are we suppose to wait for them to approach us, like in strip bars in the US. And so if TGs do not initiate, then should I assume that a person that does approach me is a katoey. No offense to those that are into katoeys, but that's just not my thing.
Lastly, escorts in the US don't allow kissing and giving them oral. That's fine with me. I'd rather not put my mouth where someone else's dick may just have been 15 minutes ago. For short and long time, do TG's expect kissing and getting oral or do they want to get right to business and get it over with like their US counterparts?
I know these are a lot of questions and hope I didn't make too big a jerk out of myself with all these questions, so I really appreciate your patience with me. With my luck, I usually find myself in all the wrong places, so I just wanted to get some confirmation here. Thanks. (12 days and counting..I feel like a 6 year old waiting for X-mas)

Bangkok is very safe to walk at any time of the day. You might bump into the occassional katoey who may approach you. I have never been a target for a robbery in Bangkok as the girls (and guys) have been very friendly to me. The worst thing that can happen to yo on the streets is TGs or katoeys following you.
In my opinion, I would reccomend Majestic Suites. It is near the Nana Plaza, clean, reasonably priced, and they have a very friendly guest policy. No need to book a double room. A single room will do just fine.
I would strongly recommend Poseidon, CM2, Annies, Darlings, and the Thermae. My top 3 would be:
1. POSEIDON
2. CM2
3. DARLINGS
The TGs approach you....... anywhere! It is the totally opposite of the USA! If you look like a tourist, not to worry! You will be flocked by girls!
TGs do kiss, and allow oral, but that depends on the girl. One TG refused me to give her oral. They also want to get things over with as soon as possible, because her pussy is probably worn out from the 10 customers she had before you in that day

You better get moving on your hotel reservation NOW. I've stayed at two of the hotel's MJ and Sol Twin Towers. Both good hotels. I would stay at the MJ as your right in the middle of the action.
BKK is safe late at night. Just use your head! Check out the Beergarden on Soi 7. Lots of friendly freelancers. My favorite MP, Annie's is 100 meters past the Nana Hotel turn right at the Rajah Hotel, 50 meters down the street. 7 days .

There is no DANGER walking along Sukhumvit Road at 2.00 a.m. In fact, I have walked along Sukhumvit Road from 12.00 midnight to 6.00 a.m. and have not encountered any danger from any sources (TGs,BGs,katoeys, robbers,muggers,etc).
I would give Annies a miss. I have stepped into that place at least 10 times and each time I just couldn't choose any suitable MP girl to service me.
As BigDUSA said, you better confirm your hotel room RIGHT NOW because you might find yourself left with no rooms as November/December is peak tourist season in Bangkok.

I think your biggest problem in BKK is how to cross streets.
I also suggest reading threads :
-RCA in Night clubs , clubs , discos
-How to get rid of katoey in Misc.etc
-Ladyboys in Specialty bars
-Common BKK scam in newbie questions
Take a good dose of healthy thinking with You and remember: If it seems too good to be true , it usually is not.
I have never found myself in threatening situations (knock knock).

Thanks for all the great information bros, if I may call you all brothers since I am still new to this site. I feel more relaxed now about wandering around on my own. With your comments and DarkKnights excellent eBook on the homepage, I am now ready for Bangkok
And thanks BigD and PL69, I will book my room right away. I need to cure the procrastinator in me.
I do have one question about hotel reservations. Which websites have any of you used to book your rooms. I wanted to use http://www.planetholiday.com, but they don't seem to have Majestic Suites listed.
Has anyone used: http://www.sawadee.com/bangkok/majestic/ or
http://www.hotelthailand.com/ or
http://www.asia-hotels.com.
It seems like you have to book a reservation with a credit card without knowing if they even have rooms available for your dates. Any comments or experiences with these sites? Are they legitimate?
I hope I may run into some of you in LOS. If so, I'm buying the first round of beers =)

I'd hate Misdirected to take this as a basic fact and to be so err...misdirected; the above description is not always true and in fact I'd venture to say not even usually true. If it were, I doubt so many guys would be coming here for fun.
