Panthip is the home of remarked RAM, overclocked CPUs, pirate software that sometimes works and sometimes does not, and shops that go out of business, leaving both buyers looking for warranty repaid (when that overclocked CPU fries itself) and creditors (who foolishly sold to these shops on 30 days net) in the lurch.
There are reputable computer shops in Bangkok, but not at Panthip.

well, to some extenet that is true. but there are some very reputable shops on the first floor (second floor for you american brothers) who have been there for years. i personally bought already 2 desktops there at prices even cheaper than in europe. never had any problems and if a complaint arises, just take the system back to them and they will fix it in minutes!!! very impressed by the speed and quality of the shops. good once are these around the acer centre and the office super store.

I was reading about Panthip Plaza in another topic.I was particularly interested because it said that here you can buy videos of the inside of massage parlours filmed with a hidden camera.Does anyone know exactly where in Panthip Plaza or near there I can find these videos?

there are some thai vcd or dvd's that look like they could have been produced in mp's. but i do not know wether that has been done secretly. what's the difference anyway if people know they were taped/filmed or not? some of the panthip dealers will let you have a glimpse on what you are buying, just ask them!

I bet it would make a difference to the people on the vcd's or whatever. It most certainly would to me.
Think about it. The owners of the MPs have huge amounts of money invested in these properties, after all they are similar to hotels in many ways. They would have to be idiots to put their businesses at risk by producing pornography (a very much police monopolized activity here, which is why the police come down so hard on anyone else who tries to get into it.)
The porn makes peanuts compared to the MP.
And if the clientele ever gets wind of being secretly recorded, there would be hell to pay. Remember, few of the MPs cater principally to farang. Most cater mainly to Thais.
If these discs exist they are staged and the people are actors. And a whole lot of porn comes in from out of the Kingdom anyway.
