I was there a few weeks ago and the software and DVD vendors had to suddenly shut down for about 45 minutes. They opened back up and things were back to normal. Prices are up a little to 150 baht asking price, maybe to pay police bribes.

I was at Panthip Plazza around October 15 (just Before APEC) and the Software shop I used to go to in the third floor was closed with some kind of public notice written in thai on the door.
No way to find the Office XP CDs I was looking for :-(

Was in Panthip on Friday 24Oct, DVDs and software available. Found one place with the DVDs already to go, 150 apiece and one free if you bought 10.
Most seem to be pretty good quality too including (quite surprisingly) finding nemo. No external or internal police presence noted, although some of the traders are obviously reluctant to openly sell non kosher dvds/software.

Yes, for sure. At least they did today. Also a certain shopping area near Pantip (CDs 80 baht). They trade on the sidewalk in open view.

3 weeks ago it was business as usual, starting price was B130, and it was very difficult to get a lower price.
