Didnt know the monk bucket was called baht, but do know that the thai Measure for weight of gold is called Baht.. At the moment you can buy 1 baht of gold for about 9000 baht, if that makes sense.
At the moment, gold is selling right at 20,000 baht per baht, not the 9,000 you have said.
I priced a 5 baht chain at a local gold shop about two weeks ago and the cost to buy was 101,000 baht.

The Gold Traders Association this morning announced the buying price at 19,510.92 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments and 19,800 baht per baht-weight for gold bar.
The selling prices were set at 20,300 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments, and 19,900 baht per baht-weight for gold bar.
Gold has not sold for 9,000 Baht a 'Baht' for a few years at least, so Blonk, may I suggest you ask your parents for some extra pocket money this month and invest in a new copy of the Lonely Planet for Thailand rather than using one you found in a rubbish bin.
Oh, wait a minute, perhaps in the South of Thailand gold is priced differently ?

..have no relation to each other other than the fact that they sound the same.
Do English speakers avoid saying "waist" because it sounds the same as "waste"...? C'mon, people.

In all honesty I can show this stuff to my wife and she would be able to answer you in the worst slang possible for an Isaan girl to do.... so what is your point?
I don't read, write or speak Thai.... never wanted to.... as I have said in previous emails I find it a worthless language as any senior Thai person I have dealt with speaks English....
Go back to your classroom in Pattani and teach the kids.....

Its a forum that generates revenue through advertising, it's ALL quality use of bandwidth. Its why some members get to hang on for so long despite their inflammatory remarks and somewhat questionable experiences that generate huge debate, at the end of the day they, more than a decent FR of factual experiences, keep the forum alive and the revenue rolling in, which as good intentions as they are, is i'm sure why BK puts up with all this crap !
From a hits and bandwidth POV BK is probably more likely to treat DG and Blonk to a beer than NicF, because NicF's FR's as fantastic as they are and as factually invaluable, they usually invoke a 'well done' 'grate report' response from a few members, whereas DG and Blonk create pages and pages of god knows what, which increases bandwidth and hits, ergo revenue.
On the other hand fellow brothers would rather buy NicF a beer for his insights based on experience.
