Think of the consequences. What if a psycho gets upset because the girl is using the same pin number and then goes and cuts her in pieces.
If you post the pin # , then please do not reveal either the name of the girl or of the bar.

I was worrying about how others may feel if they take it personally and think they are being made fun of. You confirm my fears that I am not alone worrying when you post the disclaimer.
Where are we going to end up? It is sad that we have to worry so much about the whole "being PC" thing and about the personalities of some (read: lack of sense of humour) that, just in case, warning disclaimers are needed explaining that it is just a well intended fun.
Well, I hope it is just a phase.
Clarifying warning: In this latest post, I am not joking. I mean what I say.

You know a girl that has an ATM!?!?!? Sheeeeit, that's better than a girl who owns a liquor store! Although what is actually better is if she owns a liquor store, is 3 feet tall, no teeth, pistol grip ears and a flat head for a place to set your beer. ;)

The fee if using a card from another Thai bank is a few Baht (3 if I remember correct).
Only if your bank and the ATM are in the same province. If you used an ATM in Chiang Mai say, and if your account is in Bangkok, you would be charged 20 B for inter-province transaction.
BTW, I found something interesting, if you were using the ATM to transfer funds to another account number, e.g. your TGF's account, some ATMs actually display their names for confirmation.
Another note on ATM machines, most accept 6 digit PIN numbers, but some only accept 4. I think we should make a of the 4 digit only ATM machines.

I think it makes sense, as it helps verify that you are moving money into the right account. Once I stopped such a transfer when the name that appeared did not show as how I knew it; I went back to confirm it the account number before proceeding.
However, on receiving funds, the bank doesnt tell you the name of the account where the money was transferred. But hey! What would you care as long as you got the money

If we went back in time and prevented the introduction of ATM machines (the machines, not the mobile walking ones) to the LOS.... this lovely forum might have been erased from the space time continuem (like in Back to the Future). And we'll also be less handsome and charming.

Wouldn't it be easier to just give your BG your ATM cards and all their pins at the start of a relationship? I mean, why not just cut to the chase?
Set a candle-lit romantic scene at the Shangri-La (and ignore the snickering locals and veteran falangs), give your girl your cards with the pin # lightly etched in Roman, Thai, and Arabic numbers on the front ANND back.... and propose. "dar-ling, I want to be your one and only walking ATM until I die." *cue BG tears of joy*
