BigDUSA, maybe not fare price. ÝBut once you paid for the tickets with your credit card, you have a contract. ÝThey made an offer you accepted in good faith and paid. ÝEnjoy the flight and service!

Enjoy, I know you will!

That is not accurate.  The carrier does not have to honor the ticket if it is in error. I spoke with Cathay and they told me the fare basis is for an infant traveler. The rep insisted that if I show up at the airport they would not honor the ticket because I am not an infant and would ask me to pay up the difference for an eligible adult fare and if you know anything about Asian airlines they go by the rules. The rep told me to contact Expedia to clear the matter up because it is obviously an Expedia error.

Expedia has informed me that Cathay should have the fare basis coded as an Expedia special fare, so there should be no problem at the airport. I am waiting for an oficial written statement from Expedia to clarify this issue.  I suggest that others who gbought this fare do the same.

One of these 2 organizations is wrong and I'll be damned if I will be arguing with a check-in desk at 1am in the morning and putting an additional $1500 on my credit card having to wait until my return to take the matter up with Expedia.

jjsushi, I don't know the details of who made the offer, but somebody is on the hook for the accepted offer, which is a contract when paid for. ÝThis contract was made in USA not Asia.

I'm sure BigDUSA is not an infant, he has described himself as, fat, bearded, balding, fun loving male of 55, and cheap whore monger (sorry BigDUSA if not completely accurate). Ý Could such an infant Ýtravel alone? ÝI don't think airlines book single infant tickets. ÝMaybe BigDUSA or ccvvbb could clear this matter up.

If ccvvbb is an infant, I guess no GIANT BOTTLE of that fine Canadian stuff. ÝDamn it!

BigDUSA/ccvvbb could wear nothing but diapers to the check in to qualify as infants. ÝNo diaper pins potental weapon (security). ÝTo make it more realistic wear soiled diapers!

jjsushi, I don't know if you are jealous or what? ÝBut it appears to me you are trying your damndest to f_ckup some bodies deal by drawing attention to the amount paid Ý(BigDUSA & ccvvbb). Ý

Don't be a putz and re-read my post.  I have purchased 3 tickets for myself and four of my friends have booked tickets also for $166rt.

Why in the hell would I be jealous? Are you drinking or do you truly not have reading comprehension skills?

I have been calling the airline and Expedia to prevent any problems when I check-in at the airport this week!

I have initially  received from both Expedia and Cathay the run around with not one person understanding the fare promo and the fare basis for booking. After some supervisors intervened it seems to make more sense that their was an apparent lack of communication between the two oraganizations.
Expedia seems to be responsible for the special fare and I am awaiting an official written explanation from them so that I will not have any problems later.

Does that meet your approval and can you comprehend what I have written so far?

You should seriously delete your post because you display an utter lack of logic, comprehension and common sense.

Well if worse comes to worse, just show up at the check in window in a soiled diaper, pacifier, one of those baby bonnets and a stream of drool running down your mouth and speak gibberish.

jjsushi, don't waste your ammo on someone whom display's an utter lack of logic, comprehension, and common sense.  You need to keep your powder dry for your battle with Expedia/Cathay Pacific.

I do hope you succeed and retain those bargain basement tickets.  Good luck and thanks for the compliments, I will file with all my honorarium.

I spoke with an Expedia rep and they told me that Cathay made a technical error by loading this fare in their system as an infant fare, hence the ridiculously low price of $146.

CX will honor the fare and there should be no problems at the airport.  My concern was that on the return of BKK or HKG an uninformed CX rep would notice the infant fare basis on the ticket and not allow we to board unless I pay the differnce. We all know how these Asian carriers can be very by the book and inflexible.  I had Expedia call CX and include on my PNR the fare basis mixup and that the ticket will be honored. CX added the info so I hope all will be well.

I advise any of you guys to do the same so you won't have any problems.

BTW- CalEden see what happens when you follow up on things? You prevent yourself from having unpleasant situations, instead of hoping to get away with something.

This wasn't a special fare dude it was a f_ck up by either CX or Expedia.  We were all just fortunate to benefit by it.

If it's a f_ck up we are fortunate that CX will honor the fare.
