My second sponsorship just blew up in my face. I am beginning to think that for us married guys this is a bad idea. Background: A) I don't have sex with my wife. B) The object of sponsorship (for me) is the ability to bareback. Upon commencement of a relationship we go together to a hospital for HIV tests (what's good for the goose is good for the gander). Upon setting up house I intend to be monogamous.
Mia Noi #2 was a dream - was not from the sex worker industry & thus did not have a head full of crap like most of them do. After a mere 30 days together she claimed that her father was sick & she had to go home to take care of him. Later on she claimed that she lost her bag with mobile phone, Thai ID card, 2 ATM cards, 2 Bank Books, 3 baht of gold I bought her & a whole bunch of other shit (2k worth of make-up).
She arrived last night to pick up her clothes, a fact I only discovered when she arrived at the door.
So bottom line, for me: I am going to be paying by the piece - 2k baht or whatever, bar fine 400 & ST room 400. 2 or 3 times a week because getting romantically involved with these (24 YO) girls is asking to get your heart broken.
I hope my story helps someone.
Edit In: This girl was of so low character that she never offered any explanation as to why she had come all this way just to get her clothes & head back (12 hour bus ride one way) the next day. When time to say "Goodbye" she couldn't look at me & the word came out in a whisper. She didn't have the grace to say - "Yes I know I told you I would love you forever but something happened & I changed my mind". As she & her sister were leaving I was tossing stuffed animals at them - purchased as gifts while she was gone. Having no shame she took those too - without offering thanks. Boy - talk about misjudging someone!! Whew!!!

Just trying to show that things could be worse. I know that is little comfort today but time, beer and the right bargirl might help ease the pain. At least you HAVE those options.....
My two cents on the next mia noi....one from the bar scene who is old enough and smart enough to see how sweet the deal you are offering is. Out of about 40 I've known I'd say there were two that would fit the bill.
For now you should just enjoy looking for that 5%.

Last trip, Dew told me this story:
She has a friend (I'll call her Ae). Ae is not very cute, but she worked in the bar and found a tourist German guy as a boyfriend. GermanGuy came back for a couple of visits and always went with Ae. Ae had almost no other customers. GermanGuy decideds he doesn't want Ae working in the bar so he sponsors her. I do not know the amount he gave her, but Dew said it is an amount that paid for the room rent for 3 girls, drinking, gambling, food, and some extra to give Ae's Thai boyfriend. GermanGuy comes to Bangkok twice a year. Ae is too ugly to get a lot of customers but she doesn't have to work because GermanGuy takes care, and he is hardly ever in Bangkok. Sounds like a good deal for Ae, huh?
But Ae says she wants to go back working in the bar. Her friends are working in the bar, so she decides she can go back to work in the bar behind GermanGuy's back. Of course, this makes little financial sense because Ae hardly gets any customers when she is working, plus Ae is constantly late for work or misses work, so her salary gets cut. More than one time, she made NO money in a month. Dew and the others tell Ae that going back to work in her old bar is NOT a good idea because GermanGuy will find out and be "angry her". And if she really wants to go work, the other girls tell her she should go to one of the smaller Soi Cowboy bars where "lady not beautiful can still have customer because man who go there not care if lady not beautiful" (Dew's words, not mine) Plus, in a smaller bar, she is more likely not be noticed and word might not get back to GermanGuy that she is back working.
Well can you guess what Ae does? She goes back to her old bar where she knows the mamasan (big bar in NEP). As she doesn't get barfined too much, she is easily spotted working as she is there all night. One of GermanGuy's friends comes into the bar, sees Ae and reports back to GermanGuy that Ae is working. The end result is that GermanGuy stops sending any more money ("GermanGuy finish Ae"), and Ae's friends are quite angry with her because there is no more income coming in. Ae has also lost her Thai boyfriend too because he stopped working when GermanGUy started sending money. So Ae has now left the bar and went home to Khon Khen with the same amount of money she arrived Bangkok with two years ago. None.

Ae's story is OH so Typical of TGs/BGs
they really know how to "look a gift horse in the mouth"
seen way to many relationships go straight to hell because of it, but most were with ex-BGs
it certainly defies logic to do something that will most certainly get your money supply cut off
just goes to show, you don't know what you got until it's gone
the ones that really get me are those where the wife sits at home gambling while the hubby is away making money and sending it home for her to spend
he comes back to an empty house, cause she sold the furniture to pay her gambling debts, and he's got to rent a car because she sold that too, or gave it away to her TBF so he could find a job after she blew hubby's money
oddly enough, the TGs expect mr. ATM to build it all right back again, but usually they end up back in a bar soon after
so, how can you be sure you're not getting shafted by your little darling when you're away ?
me, alarm bells start going right away if there's a mention of a brother or some shite like that.

Logic? What gets me is after they're back in the bar, if asked they say, Oh he don't give money no more or he no good or farang glup bahn laew etc etc, completely defacing any responsibility they had in it and putting the blame on the customer (sponsor).
And not merely as a saving face gesture, but I really believe they can not see the part they had in it and could not allow themselves to if their attention was directed to it. They want to make the buck and have an easy life and business would go better if customers just kept sending money but never showed up.
Some marketing seminars and customer service workshops might be called for.
