hi,

my tgf borrowed 60000 baht from me, and now she is in the position to pay me back (big surprise).

what is the best way to transfer money from a thai bank account to a u.k account. she is with the bangkok bank if this helps.

i was wondering about approx costs. if the cost is to high I will collect next time i'm in bkk. but this is probably my only chance to see that money again.

cheers

Tell her to send it Western Union. f*** the expense.

That way you can get your hands on it instantly before the buffalo stomps on the monkey and destroys the Cell Phone that it stole off her brother when he fell off his motorbike while trying to avoid hitting his grandfather who had just collapsed because he saw the buffalo running towards the monkey that was being cared for by granny who was also injured and that is why she needs to keep your money to pay the bank who gave them the loan in the first place to have the roof of the house repaired to keep the buffalo dry so he would not go bezerk and trample granny who just loves caring for sick monkeys...etc, etc, etc...If you know what I mean!

Or if she is a member of the Bangkok Bank they can arrange a simple international transfer at minimal cost. Just don't hold your breath...

Or even better give me her name and I will collect it from her and save it for you... After all I am a brummie. You can trust me.

TC

I transfer funds from my Bangkok Bank account to overseas accounts every month via Swift. Never had any problems, and it costs 400 baht per transaction.

It might be different for a Thai citizen though - I know the banks are iffy about sending Thai-sourced funds out of the country.

Off topic, but can someone help me out here. I lent $600 to an aquaintance in India and now he is able to pay me back. I don't want it in Rupees, so what will be the best way for him to send the money to me in either France or in Canada?

Wester union? or can he do a simple wire transfer? I am asking this because a long time back I heard that the Indian government puts crazy limits on sending money outside of India, etc. etc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. THX.

CafeDelMar do you want to bother for $600? Just let him have it as a gift, why not? You are making $18,000 each month after taxes and can make in a few years $50,000 a month so you have stated. Why bother...?

*lol*

And to quote CafeDelMar's exact words "I can do so many things to earn me at least another 20,000 to 40,000 bhat in LOS by working from home for a few hours a day. "

So work that few hours and give that bloke the $600 already, showey.

Fvck off you jealous prick. You are one of those trolls who are so green with envy will chase someone all around. Man, you probably suffer from some real low self esteem.

Do you even know why I would want the money back? Do you know the history between me and this Indian gentleman? So shut the fvck up?

Man, you are probably one of those losers we all see from time to time, who never achieved anything and will never ever achieve either. So the best way to feel good is try to put someone else down. Except, I am laughing at you. You are an idiot.

Have you thought about the fact that this Indian gentleman has a sense of honour and he will feel good if he can pay back the money? Ofcourse a person like you (low class) would never understand such a concept.

Anyway, tell you what, you keep chasing me on these forums and come up with witty remarks like "showey" after my every post.
ooooh, I'm already waiting for the next golden nugget you plan to print on this forum. Waiting...

Hey Cafe, why worry about laws in India for transfering money to you? Why bother about what is the lowest commision to transfer such money back to you? You stated you are so rich, talking about 4 millions US$, hey why worry about $600? This is the price of one dinner + wine for you, is it not? Honor you say? Tell you what, just let your Indian gentelman donate those $600 to the many Indian poors who could live of this amounth for a year or more. I'm sure that gentelman will do so if you ask him to, and you will feel better knowing that you helped some low cast less lukcy Indian people with your great generosity. OK? Then you wont bother to worry about how much commision a transfer of funds may cost nor will you worry about laws to take money out of India. Afterall, a big spender rich man such as yourself should not waste his time on such details, heck you could have made those $600 already just working the time it took you to write your posts here! LOL

By the way, I am low class (or should I say low cast) too... LOL

The dontation thing is a really good idea. Thx.

I don't make $4,000,000. I said, 4,000,000 bhat, which is $100,000 a month. I earn $50,000 (roughly) around a month from my own business. Many guys on this forum remember when I took the big step to actually start my software development/consulting business.

Also, is there any harm in knowing more about how to transfer money and just stuff like that which you might be able to use to your advantage in the future?

Finally, do you know how rich people stay rich? By not wasting money? I grew up poor, among all my class mates' families, I came from the poorest. I value money. Be it $10, or $10,000. I didn't say I am a ig spender. I hope that in the future, when I plan to retire, I will spend a lot. Only things I have now, is a really really nice apartment in Toronto, and another in Paris and a really nice BMW 6 (I bought since I really enjoy it).

"Afterall, a big spender rich man such as yourself should not waste his time on such details, heck you could have made those $600 "

Rich people who stay rich usually pay attention to exactly such details. Regular people don't, hence they never end up making a lot of money or saving enough.

I am proud of what I earn, of what I have acheived, I work hard at it, and I enjoy the fact. Whether some idiots over hear laugh at me or think I am bluffing, I don't give a fvck.

"I'm sure that gentelman will do so if you ask him to, and you will feel better knowing that you helped some low cast less lukcy Indian people with your great generosity. "
I am not a generous person. No one ever gave us any help or handouts, I am not too keen on doing that for others. However, it is not a bad idea regarding the $600 as I think it would be a lot more hassle getting it out anyway.

BTW, last question, suppose, I needed 1000 people from India to do the same, i.e. send $300-$600 out via bank to a foreign account, is this possible for the person in India, or will the Reserve Bank of India ask questions as to why the Indian is sending $300 out of the country. And no, I don't want fvcking retards like apollo who don't know anything to answer, if any Indian on this forum knows, please reply. If I get to meet you later in BKK, drinks, dinner and an MP session expense on me.

Thx.

Cafe, hummm lets see you wrote:

Hummmm I wonder what kind of business are you thinking to be in, 1000 people from India to send you each $300-600 into your acount? Promise to help them do what? Find a job? Get a visa? LOL

So you were poor in India and no one gave you any charity? But I am sure there were even poorer people at the time. Just because others were mean to you, does not mean you need now not be generous with others? To each his/her own, but hey, as Thais say, up to you.

And yes, if 1000 transffers will happen from India to same account, say $300-600 each, the Central bank will suspect you try to bypass the law and use people to take out your money from India. You may be in trouble when you visit there, so I think you should go with another scheme to get rich. Hey why not invest in India? Its a great country, you can have a software development branch there, hire low paid programmers, and export their programs to the West. Sell those programs and keep the money! Example see Call Centers. Isn't it better? Now would you buy me a beer for this free wonderful advice? Guess you wont, you need save the money to retire... no one gave you a free beer when you were a kid... LOL

And by the way, if you were of a high cast origin, you would not have coursed or use bad language in a post.. neither will rich people show off and list their great threasures... so you have a BMW car.. wow... I am jelous... LOL

Cheers
