I posted this on A.N.Other Forum, but thought it might bw useful here too as it's real-world data: "I got a much better rate drawing on my Visa debit card from the ATMs than I would have in the UK, even factoring in the transaction fee. For my August tour, the median rate quoted by five exchanges in the UK was 68.09 (range:66.97-70.88) whilst 14 x THB10,000 withdrawals in BKK/Patty/Patong averaged 70.93 (71.59-70.24; transaction fees, GBP1.50, factored in). Had I made fewer, larger withdrawals the rate would have been even better." FYI, K.

had you use the nationwide's atm card there are no atm fees ever worldwide so a better deal & you can take 100bt 20 times a day without loosing out as opposed to the thai atms & their inter region 10-20bt fees

No fees from Thai Atms or my USA bank, but VISA charges me 1% of the amount withdrawn. For 16K BHT the fee is about 3.88 USD, charged by VISA for international ATMs money conversions.
