I don't think you will have particular problem in this place.
Climb up the outdoor curving stair before getting to the front door. Walk through the front door, then you have a choice --turning left leads you to the fishbowl with more mature ladies, or turning right is the model lounge with some pretty faces and younger girls on sofa. You can also check both areas prior to selecting.
Papasans are generally courteous to help in Emmanuella, I have not yet met hard nose managemt staff here.

You do have to consider this, before 1998, as a farang you couldn't even enter some of these establishments let alone try out the girls. Thanks to economic crisis, they were hungry for any customers, and had to be little more flexible in their clientele. These smart buggers however came up with the idea of the "surcharge" to make some extra baht. If they have lost some potential customers in the process, they are not worried since that's not their main target market anyway.

It's not about being regarded as weak or stupid, some people just don't like other people. Arabs and blacks would get the same deal.
The surcharge is actually a very polite 'you're not exactly welcome' sign. It's like saying 'it's inconvenient' at an executives meeting. But it's also saying in the end these girls are ready and mostly willing if you pay a little more because they are hookers after all.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. I think it'd be a true statement whatever group one was talking about. Presuming we're taking a western-centric point of view to this, it's no different than a club in New York or L.A. wanting to keep a particular group race wise or even the poorer shoddier parts of their own race out by saying 'sorry, we have a dress code here... or sorry, there's a private party tonight... or employing bouncers to help screen out undesireables.' Here, you might visit Emmanuelle a few times, get surcharged, and then your self esteem might kick in and you simply stop going. Or you can keep going, because everything has a price and it's just a small markup. Kind of like how some blacks, Latinos, or Asians would insist on being members at a predominantly white country club.

 I suppose Nic can never ride a baht bus, can never order corn or pineapple from a street vendor, because he won't pay the extra 5 baht. Actually, I used to feel similarly, but now I just look at what it's worth to me, and don't worry so much about what others may be paying.
