You may be right, but I personally don't remember that being widespread. I do recall being refused service at the Plaza massage in 1993 but that was the only time. I used to work in an office on Ratchadapisek up around Suthisarn and used to travel down it to Dindaeng every day to go home. I remember very few massage parlours there before I left in 1996. I remember on a subsequent trip in '97 or '98 being amazed at how many massage parlours had opened up along that stretch of Ratchada. It seems these places are the ones that originated the whole surcharge thing. Perhaps the surcharge idea was a reaction to the collapse of the baht in '97 against the "farang" currencies. Things were ridiculously cheap then when you got something like 55 baht to a US dollar. The good old days...

Was just there this past Saturday. In my opinion, still worth the money, especially with the amusing sideliner gel course option. They're not as good as the pro B course girls, but they do give it a pretty good effort in my experience. As to whether it's 'worth it' or not, it'll of course depend on the end user. I pretty much have free time for 80% of the day so I can't really complain about 'wasted' time if it's not a 4-5 star session.

Less on average. In general the run into fewer English speakers although there is a niche of westerners who prefer these places to gogo bars... they are more likely to speak a little Korean, Chinese, or Japanese... or English learned from the misc. non western customers that pass through these places, but at the same time most have gotten a little further in school on average.

Last night I was in Emmanuel for the first time since years...selection was not vast but I did find one slim nice one who turned to have nice tits as a bonus, her english was OK but nothing special in bed....
