I know very little about BKK rental rates but I thought she was aiming very high at 12K per month, that's what the last guy was paying, apparently.
That's getting to be low end London rates for a room, and very few places are more expensive than my home town.
It's a nice building called Le Maison, a clean, well kept building, and less than 10 years old I would estimate.
Like I said, the kitchen is open air on the balcony though, I have only ever seen this set up in Thailand, I suppose most eat out or buy in but personally, I like cooking sometimes and I would always want a full 'western' style kitchen. Even my hotel room has a built in hob, micro wave, etc.

12k could be a good deal for that area! if well maintained and with Aircon, then 12k sounds reasonable. Need to look at the space also.
Kitchen isn't very important as it is so cheap to eat out.
I pay 80k for my rent (company pays) and never really used the kitchen.

Really, maybe I am getting myself confused then because I am sure I have read posts from guys who are well established here saying that a reasonable two bed apartment can be had for 30K in a good area in BKK. I thought 12K for the smaller of 2 bedrooms was high, but seems I was wrong.
I will get the area pinned down, obviously I wont post the actual soi number but the general area should help anyone interested. I could see the skytrain from the balcony window, about 1/2 a k away and she said Chit Lom station was near so I suppose its not a bad place to be. Aparently a high level of Japanese living in the area, which is good news in my view.

Well, I certainly am not interested as my appartment is most probably a million times better (and for 12k, not sure what we're going to get)
but I have sometimes friends or colleagues that are looking so it might interest them.

Trust me, I am not in need of money or savings, besides, my condo is just perfect and costs me 0.
How can I explain to my company that a Chidlom appartment with kitchen in the balcony and probably not more than 80sqm cost 80k thb?
