Today I took the BTS from Nana to Phra Khanong, then walked the couple blocks further to Suk Soi 71. Walked up Soi 71 for about 10 minutes just to get the feel of the area. Then flagged a taxi and showed him the address of Tarawadee in thai.
As I didn't know how long it would take me to get there, I arrived a bit early, about 4PM. So I took a table that had views of both the fishbowl and the model lounge, and ordered some lunch. Food is pretty good.
There were just a few girls in the fishbowl. It stayed that way as girls were taken as soon as they sat down. There was more business here at 4PM than I have seen anywhere so far.
After finishing lunch, I asked to move to a table nearer the models. It was 5PM and it was the same here... girls were snatched up as soon as they sat down.
As I was in no hurry, ordered a beer. Got this huge bottle served up. The mamasan had tried to get me to pick someone before I even ordered lunch. Then again as soon as I finished. But I told her that I would just sit and wait for someone that interests me.
I sat there an hour and a half before this stunner with number M12 walked out. OK, now where was the mamasan? No where to be found. Too late, she was immediately taken.
Decided there wasn't much reason to hang around any longer and left after making a note of number M12.
I don't know what this mamasan's name was but I will make sure to get someone else to assist me next time.
I thought the lounge and table areas were much better than at Poseidon. Enjoyed taking the meal while watching the girls as they came and went.
Caught a taxi in the parking lot, and asked him to take me to Utopia.

For me, half the fun was just figuring out how to get here. From Suk Soi 71, my map software told me it was 6.6 km. So I knew I couldn't walk all the way.
Showed the taxi driver the address I got off of the Tarawadee website (after confirming that the hotel doorman was able to read it.)
From Soi 71, the Patanakarn turn was clearly marked. And it was easy to see the Soi street numbers as we past them.
As we neared Soi 44-46 on Pattanakarn, the Tarawadee building was easily recognizable from the photos on cityphotoguide.com.
Taking the BTS to Suk Soi 71 and then grabbing a taxi is a good way to go. Traffic was no problem on either Soi 71 or on Pattanakarn.
Funny, I don't think the taxi driver knew where I was actually going with the address I gave him. When we entered the parking lot, he got this big grin on his face and starts pointing at the building signs and muttering in Thai. He spoke absolutely no english. Gave him a good tip.
I will probably go back again next week. Later in the evening some night in the middle of the week; maybe it won't be so busy.
I've been to Poseidon, Amsterdam, Tarawadee, Utopia, Colonze 2, and Emmanuelle in the past 2 weeks. And only at Poseidon, have I seen any one else who was non-asian. But I can't say I have ever felt that I was not welcome at any of the places. I do get some stares, but to me they seem more out of curiosity about this lone farang.

Edit: Posted this question after reading quoted post in page 4. I see this is answered later in page 5. Good to know she is there. Lost track of her after she left Poseidon. For years she took care of me and my friends.

if that's the same mamasan that was working at Poseidon back in April when I was there, I agree, she's pretty hot for an older lady... I kinda teased her & said I wanted to take her upstairs instead of the models... very nice lady... explained the system to us newbs on our 1st visit there & introduced us to a couple hot models in the lounge... tipped her 200 baht & she was very appreciative... I bet she was a real stunner in her younger days.

I went to Tarawadee and asked for Mama Nut. She doesn't speak English. Instead, I got Kit who was excellent and spoke good English. The food is pretty good, not great. Overall I liked the experience. I was the only farang there.
